I think that's being overly harsh on COLIN there Oddball. His hands were effectively tied as he wasn't able to operate in the market. And you in particular know how priceless a good pre-season can be and therefore how disastrous a sh*t one can be. Briatore was the instrument of our failure last season, not poor old Nelly.

A toss up between play-off final defeat to Baadiff or the defeat to Vauxhall Motors.

Has to be the 1986 milk cup final, I was 8 years old!! For the 1st time ever we were favourites, bloody favourites!!
Also my 1st trip to wemberrrleeee. Obviously we were gonna win, it was only Oxford. Who knew players like ray Houghton and John Aldridge were going to turn out that good? Bastards............

I had already booked a romantic weekend away in Stratford upon Thames well before we reached the play off final.
Remember waking up to the news that someone had let off the fire alarm in the middle of the night at the qpr hotel, and knew we were going to lose. Found the only sports bar in town to watch it, to be told that they have no
idea a football match was on so they're showing England vs barbarians in the rugby. To make it even worse the barmaid said who are qpr, are they from Princes Risborough!! :-(

Sitting in Elerslie Road stand 15? years ago, watching us get "officially Relegated" against some sh*te team, with Wilkins in charge.

Had more than a good time at Forrest away that season though (last game)..what a blast!!

My lowest point was travelling back from Leeds, in the late 80's or early 90's from an FA cup game. Leeds got the winner in the last 5 mins so their fans came on the pitch to celebrate which quickly turned into an excuse for attacking the Rangers fans.
Managed to get out of there alive (just) and got our escort to the train station and our luxurious 'football special' to find all the windows had been smashed in by our kind northern hosts. AND to make matters worse as the train was jam packed I had to sit in the cold corridor.
It was at that point it did wonder if it was all worth it.....but the last year has told me that it well and truly is :)

All the above, and realising that Briatore and Bernie expected the soul of my club for their investment - 'boutique football', 'be careful what you wish for', 'we want our rangers back' etc

Definately the milk cup final for me aswell,12 years old, when i got home from the game with my Dad i had to walk through my estate in chelsea after the game with my flag stuffed into my coat and run the gauntlet of ridicule from about 50 kids in the playground i will never forget the shame.
