He also said he was trying to keep things quiet about players so maybe Anderson is somebody he would be after- a good player and would be surprised if other teams weren't after him

Abdoulaye Faye has given the thumbs up to join us after rejecting offers from abroad and another Championship club

Good signing, in Hobbs absence we seemed alot more under pressure as Hobbs clears the lines almost everytime under the high ball, also looked alot weaker at set pieces, Faye will improve this in hobbs absence.

Nice to have one with alot of experiance and a physical presence amongst all the younger players

Which would you rather have, Scoots, Abdoulaye Faye or Ant Gerrard?

Correct. Far too many people are hung up about a players age. FFS, they can be 44 if they are good enough. Stanley Matthews played at the top level at the age of 50.!!

Again agreed. Fuller has alot to prove and would add something extra to what we already have. Its a long hard season and with a big squad City can give both Cups a go as well for a change.

Getting fed up of the constant Mclean bashing especially. All our strikers bring different attributes to the squad. City will need 5 maybe 6 strikers imo.

McShane will go if Crystal Palace come calling but for now with Rosie injured we only have Danny East as cover.

Agreed as FAYE can play either CB or defensive midfield. Faye is a better alround footballer than say Ant Gerrard but Gerrard does chip in with some goals. If the strikers and midfielders do whats needed then Faye is the better option. imo.

Why is everyone saying the Faye deal is done? Where is that from?

I think he's exactly what we need.

According to the HDM it is now a done deal. Signing a one year contract.

Faye for me. May be older than Gerrard, but he's fitter, quicker, stronger and has done it at a higher level. I know he's a one year quick fix, but if it works it's all worthwhile.

I just hope he isn't on the amount I've heard he asked for - good signing though, we need height and experience and he has always looked a threat at set pieces.

Could be the best Fix we have had in years. IF he helps us get back to the PL then we can replace him with Turner next summer,,, maybe ? ;) <whistle>

Whatever the amount and its only guess work its only a year Unlike previous disasters like Ghilas-Bullard to name but 2. <grr>

Gerrard is a good defender, but his attitude bothers me a bit (probably runs in the family). He seems to have a few bust-ups at Cardiff and now they've gone on their pre-season tour without him.
He wasn't any trouble when he was here, but we played him regularly and I think he would be a problem if he was dropped to the bench.
Also didn't he seem unenthusiastic about talk of a permenant deal after the loan ended?

Good signing, adds much needed height and experience at the back.

Yes, you are right, as I recall it he seemed singularly unenthusiastic about staying here. He didn't slag us off, but I think he preferred to return to Cardiff, probably because at that stage he felt they were more likely to go up. Now, especially if we get Faye, I suspect we are in a stronger position, and don't need him. Just the way the cookie crumbles.

I remember my friend who used to work at the KC telling me that near the end of his loan we had an offer accepted for him but he rejected the contract because he wanted to return to Cardiff

You share my opinion. Faye (and potentially Fuller) both top signings, but don't seem the type to take big wage cuts. They'll be high earners
