I would suggest that 2 of them will be Loans. Dont rule out late august / deadline day deals either by Bruce. Friday 31st August could be most interesting and not just @ Hull City,, imo. Come in Jim White(SSN) its gonna be a long long day.
Steve Bruce has learnt a very harsh but valuable lesson after Sunderland. SAFC squad was not big enough with quality or experience to cover for injuries and long term injuries. When they kicked in and Gyan left the results fell away and he got sacked eventually. Bruce knows that he needs cover all over the place which is what we lacked last season especially when fatique and tiredness kicked in. IMO, Steve Bruce needs 2 sets of 11 quality/experienced starters that can play in any given match. A lack of spending back in Jan cost Citry dear and Nick Barmby his job to a point. Even now, not even 3 weeks into pre-season we have 4 out injured. Hobbs(long term), Rosie,Daws,Mckenna who have yet to kick a ball in a game.
But can the Allams afford to spend what you say we need. O.K. they have a few quid stashed away, but can't seeing them wanting to burn their fortune on a football club
Agree with you Dan. I think we'll address where we are weakest with another 3 or 4 players (maybe another depending on out goings). We had the foundations of a good squad last season but we lacked depth in certain areas. Once these certain areas are added to we're all set
