I think fair play and I'm sure next season Jonas Ben Arfa Routs or whoever takes his place
along with Gosling new signings and the likes will terrorise defences :)

Routledge has pace. Our squad lacks pace. Simples.

Would have loved to have seen Routledge come on against Villa Sunday, instead we bring on Raylor who has no pace, and hardly touched the ball (ok his delievery is good). I think Routledge is a handy squad player to have, and don't see why signing someone without pace like Seb Larsson would benefit our squad.

We let Routledge go when he was needed and now he's coming back when he wont be needed. We should have kept him til the end of this season, then loaned/sold him.

He let him go because we were meant to be on the verge of signing a right winger who would make Routledge surplus to requirements, then things ****ed up and we didn't get him and Routledge was already gone.

Yes but that winger was Larsson, who was a completely different winger to Routledge. Larsson is more a 'Raylor' winger if you like.

Routledge just hasn't been able to make that step up, just ask Villa Palace and spurs. Been a non performer in the premiership and has found his level in the championship........

He has never been given a proper crack at the premiership though. In all his time in the prem he has only started about 18 games or something (I can't be arsed to check). I would keep him if we don't sign anyone there, I even think he would do well coming on for the last 10mins against tired defenders!

there was a striker a few years ago can't recall his name excellent in the ccc but utter ****e in the prem (played for boro at one point) Routledge is the same imo class in the ccc but average in the prem.

Let him come back and give him a bit more of a go, I think he could be good enough for you. He is a good player and I believe he can step up to the mark.

It's not who you're thinking of but Chopra has a bad case of that.

I doubt we'll bring him back, he just doesn't seem able to make the step up to the Prem, some sort of fear factor or something.

This is what I always think, in the CCC he rips defenders to pieces and in the PL (where a lot of defenders arent much better than CCC ones) he will play a safe pass back or do nothing and get tackled. Its strange, if he played with the confidence he plays with in the CCC he wouldnt be far off Lennon IMO.

He has the pace, skill and ability but seems to lack the confidence to actually run at defenders in the Prem, if he did he could be a good player.
