Seems you're not allowed an opinion on this board without receiving swearing and abuse. I'll respond only to Drogs, because he is an actual valued poster. What I meant was, Chelsea fans have every right to be pleased - you've waited a long time, and arguably should have been in more finals (I'm thinking Barca in 2009, wasn't it?). But, due to the manner of your victory, you must accept that very few neutrals will value your victory as you do. Like many, I went into the final wanting Chelsea to win, and against Barca also, but ended the match supporting the opposition. Of course, it isn't your prerogative to care about what we think, and certainly Chelsea did the job required of them, but to call it 'bitterness' (as the poster of this thread has) is too much. Bitterness suggests envy - and as a Liverpool supporter, I at least don't really care that Chelsea won it save for the financial benefits, exposure etc. You've actually done us (and Arsenal) a favour by denying Spurs the Champion's League. I've already seen my team win what most people would say was the best CL final ever, I'm happy with that for now. Tell me if I'm being unreasonable.
There's also a big difference between playing tippy tappy triangles and winning fuk all, and playing football to suit the opposition and walking away with the biggest prize in club football. But then the arse wouldn't know how that feels so you can't blame them i guess. I don't remember many Gooners complaining when they were winning things under George Graham i.e the most boring club side to ever win the league. 99% of gooners would swap good football for trophies...FACT.
Or indeed united's 2008 CL cup. Wasn't that won on penalties after a 1-1 tie? Can't remember who it was they played in the final though...
Well said tel NI, of course you're allowed an opinion, but you have to understand we've received a very large amount of similar comments which is beginning to become a little tedious to us all! Had we set up against Barca ready to 'properly take them on', we'd have been torn to pieces. Our squad was nowhere near as good as previous squads. I don't know how anyone can say it was a boring final, it was absolutely quality.
It must have been a good final for you lot - the suspense and euphoria when Drogba scored must have been incredible. But, for the neutral it was pretty poor. You can admire tenacious, determined defending, sure, but not for 119 minutes! The lasting impression of the final was feeling the pain of Bayern and in particular Schweinsteiger. It's hard as a neutral to enjoy such things, and as a final it will never be remembered for anything positive. Yes, you played the way you had to against Barca and Munich (who are a very good side), and can be commended for it, but the margins of victory could easily have been different - Sanchez hit the bar, Fabregas nearly scored, Messi's penalty and so on. Ramires was super however. That's ok, I'm sure you're sick of threads like this, as much as Liverpool fans are sick of the stereotypes associated with us.
I don't think there was a final that year. I think UEFA declared the whole tournament void after the semi-finals. Yeah, thats DEFINITELY what happened

You are correct to a certain degree. I was not an Arsenal fan during the George Graham era as I wasn't even alive for most of his reign. I would like to ask, why you have put the word invincible in quotation marks? It's as if you are trying to belittle the achievement.
As I said previously, there is a big difference in setting out to defend for 90 minutes and being dominated.
There's also a big difference between winning and loosing. Not sure Arsenal have successfully grasped that yet.
Ah yes, the invincible season that saw you lose to United twice, Middlesborough twice, Inter Milan, Dynamo Kyiv and Chelsea. Don't get me wrong, an undefeated league campaign is amazing, but your team was far from invincible. EDIT: Beat me to it Drogs
