I don't see what the big deal is with music. Just about everyone says the they are into music, but few really spend anything on it. Music is driven by young teenagers who somehow find the cash to push crap people like Justin Bieber into orbit. Most of us sensible people grow out of this fad, time to own up. Music is ****!
We're led to believe that music is built into us, maybe it is, but it seems that as we age we **** the crap from our systems. It just becomes another kind of noise.
Don't see why. The music machine is driven for the youth of each generation. If it wasn't for children, the music scene would be a mere shadow of of what we see today.
I can see your point to an extent. A lot of "chart" music is aimed at kids these days as much to sell clothes, toys and sugary drinks as the music itself. But I am a 'mature' gentleman, and I've been into music from a very early age and spend a lot of money and time listenig to music and going to gigs. As do many of my friends. I'm also delighted to see my kids enjoy not only (some of) the music I enjoy but also new stuff that personally I wouldn't give the time of day because I know that eventually they will tire of most of their 'childish' tat and become fully fledged music loving adults like me and the missus.
I think it's just the grumpy old man coming out in me. I've found that among my friends and family, most of us he a **** load of music, but little of it is used. Dunno why though.
Anyone who doesnt like music is sick in the head and has no soul. Sorry to be so blunt , but , there it is.
Nothing like the Aberdonians though eh? disappearing in the night and buggering the sheep in other fields
you wouldnt/couldnt understand, you`re clearly sick in the head and have no soul .....though if I wasnt about to quit for the night soon I`d be up for a debate on sound, as in volume, tone, harmony, rhythm, cadence, etc being one of the basic building blocks of communication which has been elevated to an art form......If you dont like music you are allowing yourself to be subjected to the wrong kind
Yep made for children who spend the cash, not us oldies. If we really loved music as much as we profess, we'd spend more and we'd see a lot less of the "****e." Just a point, how many of us "me included" have heaps of music which we only use every now and then? Maybe it's not music that keeps is going, but the bloody tv.
What I do find scary is the though of me being 80yo and still belting out ODB and my grandkids saying turn that old shizz aff, like I used to say to my grandad with his George Formby records!
What's ODB? If I live to 80 I'll be blasting out some gems from my extensive punk vinyl collection: Flux of Pink Indians, Discharge, 4 Skins, etc.
