Blackburn boss Steve Kean is making an ambitious £3.5million bid to sign Queens Park Rangersâ Scotland forward Jamie Mackie. Kean has approached his Hoops counterpart Mark Hughes with an offer for Mackie and is now in discussions with the playerâs camp about a move to the Championship promotion hopefuls. Mackie has just signed a contract extension after playing a major part in Rangersâ successful survival battle last season, but may be squeezed out of the side in the coming campaign Even though QPR boss Mark Hughes has brought in a number of new players this summer, including experienced striker Andy Johnson, one would imagine that Jamie Mackie is very much part of the Welshmanâs plans for the coming campaign. Last term Mackie impressed in both an orthodox striking role as well as when used out wide, netting seven goals in 24 Premier League starts. Though the Super Hoops do have a myriad of forward options it would be odd if the Dorking born Scottish international was a player the West London side would accept offers for. Blackburn Rovers have done well to bring in some quality players to Ewood Park following their relegation to the Championship with boss Steve Kean signing Danny Murphy, Nuno Gomes, Fabio Nunes and Leon Best thus far. http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rc...pmXkY-OKxNRY8hIWw&sig2=UUxth5KG7kie5KjE3KP7Bw
Optimistic rather than ambitious I hope. For versatility, workrate, crucial goals and the fact that we're not overrun with alternatives on the right side (all the way from defense to attack). Because of the vulnerability down the flanks, Park and Mackie type players are a must just to help out.
I hope not! Heart & soul of the club this lad. Proven goalscorer / super-sub. His 2 goals in the defeat at Blackburn sums him up. I sincerely hope we refuse to let him go.
Why would he want to drop down a division when he's just got into the PL the long, hard way and has recently stated how much he loves it here? We're on the up, so why would we sell one of our better players anyway? If another PL team came in with a similar offer, different story. ...And who'd want to work for Kean?
Did anyone tell the Indian Chicken farmers that the Premier League is the best league, not the championship? They didn't seem to want to spend anything to save the club, yet now they've been relegated they seem to have money to burn and are bidding for loads of players. Shutting the coop door after the chicken had bolted?
I would be amazed if we were prepared to let him go. I would be equally amazed if Mackie would drop back down to the Championship having made an impact in the Premiership last season.
Even if he went he could go somewhere better than that surely...Stoke, WestHam, Sunderland, Villa. Blackburn no way
Blackburn are a joke, I doubt hed want to go there even if they doubled his money which I find it hard to believe. He signed a PL contract months ago and they say BB are going to double it? I doubt it.
Mackie might be tempted, when they say he has a chance to star in their new advert for eating their fried mutated chicken!
I reckon the dopey poultry manager has got the hump because of Samba wanting to join us and now Hoillet is jumping on the jet. So the spiteful sweaty has put in a bid for Jamie to get his own back.
Who would ever go and play for Keen? ... The man seemed deluded beyond belief .. even after relegation last season he still sprung back with some positive chicken talk ... He has lost the crowd and if they don't make a good start I can see Blackburn struggling big time. A player will of course take this into account as I believe he will be sacked an where does that then leave the player?
