Aren't another two centre midfielders in the bag too? He might not like extra players being signed in his position. I think its down to Andy Carroll. If he goes for at least £15m I reckon Joe will move not long after that.

It`s being debated fully on the RAWK forum. http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/index.php?topic=295475.0
Ha ha, no way are any club getting Joe Allen! and if you follow the Swans closely you'd know that, suppose it makes for some entertainment!...............
Journalist: "Do you have an agreement not to sign any Swansea players?" Rodgers: "Yes". So either they are legally prevented from taking players unless another club expresses interest or it's a 'gentleman's agreement' (which I doubt) in which case they won't do it if their word means anything. Take your pick.
The agreement means Jack **** if Allen shows any interest whatsoever. Legals types have said, if it even exists, it wouldn't stand up in an Employment tribunal if Joe wanted it to be considered as it is restricting his rights to free trade and employment. I think that "clause" was a load of hocum designed by the two clubs for PR purposes to make the Rodgers affair more palatable.
Hmmm....that would complicate things for sure. Technically speaking, if there IS a formal agreement between the clubs (people seem to have differing views on this) then Allen could, in theory at least, be sued by the Swans for inducing a breach of said agreement if he instigates the move. Unlikely to happen, but I would imagine Huw would be on the warpath unless we're suitable compensated of course. As always, money talks.
You are wrong it's that simple, there is no restriction of a job even if he wants to go there, Liverpool would need to express an interest first not the other way around so how can there be restriction if they are not interested ? How can a tribunal of any sort find in favour of a player if a team doesn't enquire ? Would love you to stand in court and say your honour it's unfair because they haven't come and offered me a job. It would be akin of going to a job interview and suing them if you didn't get the position.
Take this or leave it, but there's a Liverpool 'ITK' called Macca on this site - http://www.liverpool-rumours.co.uk/maccaliverpoolrumours.php He (and the people that run that site) seem to know scouts and other club officials, but Macca is generally spot on with what's going on at the club. Just Macca though, can't put much by anything else said there.
The fact is that the club and his agent saying no approach has been made today, think I'll wait to see. But it will be £15m+ all in cash upfront, jenkins won't do installments due to the fact that the swans don't have consumer credit licence and we are not a bank. Can your club afford it right now ?
The situation seems to be that the money is there if the transfer fits the 'FSG bill' - young, talented. We've clearly learned from the poor decisions of last summer, so will be more frugal, but the money is there for reasonable fees. The thing is that there's a difference between 'approach', 'bid' and talks... And agents/clubs will always distort their wording in the press to appease fans. So... who knows! I'd be surprised if this guy (Macca) was completely off the mark. If he's saying it's close, it's likely that there has at least been contact. He's usually right, that's all. Think you'll do well next year with or without him though
Says the man in the know.. nobody knows what joe is thinking as its a hell of a decision he needs help with... he has to sit down with jinks and mick to talk about it and seeing as he is busy with team GB at the moment then nothing can happen, you see the media saying different things because in reality they dont have a clue, I hope he stays but i can understand if he wants to join brendan also......lets wait and see what happens as its not a problem whatever happens....
Just saying that this guy is usually right, unlike most 'ITK' idiots, who are, obviously, wrong. Of course, we have to wait and see. We could do with a player in his mould, as it's questionable whether Aquilani will stay... And he'd keep Adam out of the team, which is worth the transfer fee!
valley are theses the same people who said rodgers was not going to liverpool because no approach has been made... nobody knows as iv stated in my above post....
Yes at the time that Jenkins said that I believe no further contact had been made, it came a few day later. Another factor is that if Joe does well in TeamGB his price is likely to go up, which could add on an additional 25% to his valuation by us, nothing will be decided until the Olympics are over for us I should imagine, which means when i'm in the states lol
Liverpool are so desperate to play the game the way we do! Ahhhhhhhhhhh chucks............. please log in to view this image
Told from someone I trust that all he has to do is make Swansea know he is interested in hearing about any offer that is made for his services and then LFC can bid whenever they want. Doesn't say it has to be accepted, but they can bid.
