    Has anyone heard the George Graham interview on talksport? link here;

    http://www.talksport.co.uk/radio/ri...stle-ever-get-it-right-itll-be-fantastic-club

In short he talks about how Newcastle would be a fantastic club if run correctly. He also says he would not take a manager position if offered (hey-ho doubt his defensive style would suit Newcastle fans anyway).

The point is, and this is why it is so frustrating being a Newcastle fan, is that we have the lot.

    We have the ground,
    We have the support,
    We have the passion,
    We have the revenue

everything is in place already to be a really great club. The problem is our chairman is here for the wrong reasons. We need an owner who has vision for the club not vision on his bank account. Freddy Shepherd i think wanted the success but was an arse at doing it. Spending was out of control under him, and the managerial merry-go-around was on 'Acme ultra fast spin'.

Moving on from this we also have the media who seem hell bent on smashing the club down whenever we get some momentum. Toongate (NotW set up), Keegangate,
'Messiahs', Teenagers boot polish on bedsheet brigade, 'looneytoons' etc...

This is why its so frustrating, us fans know we have a sleeping giant on our hands and it would be so easy to just nudge us forward in the right way. The Andy Carroll sale says it all. If we had any vision then he would have stayed. 35 million is a lot of cash and maybe he was attracted by the £££ of Liverpool but he would have stayed if we had matched their offer. We all know it.

If Jose is next then it will continue to be just more frustration in the years to come as it will be clear (if it isn’t already) that the owner is not interested in pushing the club forward only making money with little risk.

I don’t even think we need a sugar Daddy oil rich style owner like Man City necessarily, just someone with the vision and a few quid to make that push. Someone who invests in the team and keeps the players we need. If we go in the right direction and fans see that (as we did in the 90s/early 00s) then you can add that tier onto the gallowgate nee bother and fill the fecker. I know several fans who still refuse to go till Ashley goes. How much more money would be made in revenew if the club would even slightly successful?

And thats my final frustration - why has no one bought us? Liverpool were just bought by what seems like a decent American owner (with less money on paper as MA i might add). Yet they were lower in the league, are in need of a new ground (though they cant fill anfield at the moment), and were in peril under their previous owners with debt. Okay they have a good name but surely Newcastle is a good investment for someone?

Having said all that maybe Ashley has a plan this summer to move us forward with investment. Maybe he now sees the potential and will do the right thing...????<laugh><doh>

Good article, very much agree with it, all we need is a sensible owner that will spend a few bob and a decent manager and we're on our way to Europe!

as for our current owner he would go up in my estimation if he sacked lamebastard and appointed someone from within football who would advise him better but you get the impression it's his way or no way hence the yes men surrounding him at the club

You know we seemed to be heading in the right direction under Chris Mort. Everyone was happy then, we were moving in the right direction. Infact, MA used to frequent the Strawberry reguarly before the game. Would he still be welcome in there?

Angyway Chris left, Wise stepped up a gear and he fecked it all up with Keegan. The rest is history.

I disagree, not many clubs can boast the infrastucture we already have in place. If we had any sort of success (at least challanging anyway) Newcastle could easily sell out a 60,000 seater stadium every week. The expectations this season were to hope we finished 17th or above and we're still averaging 48,000 plus every home game. Imagine if we were actually any good? Thats my point.

    Good luck on Saturday/Sunday btw.

Being a one club city makes a difference I suspect,we could have pele and cruyff up front and we still wouldn't get 60000
