2013 isn't 2 years away. If you're a PL club with Champions League ambitions you pay £20M for one of your 3 main strikers so that you can rotate to keep all players fresh and cover for loss of form.
That would be ludicrous. He's done **** all above L1 level after being judged not good enough for the Championship by Ipswich, it would actually make us spending £1.3M on signing McLean to solve our goalscoring problems look like a good bit of business.
If Liverpool didn't sell Carroll to the Geordies, then I think they're stupid. They ridiculously overpaid for the lad, heaped a massive amount of pressure on him and made themselves look idiots. The closest way to redemption for the scousers would be to attempt to sell him for as much as they can. Unless they're holding out and hoping AC Milan offer more...
Am I missing something with Carroll? I know his transfer was ridiculously expensive but he's still a great player isn't he? He had a decent Euros even though he only started one game, he's good on the ground as well as being a target man and he's still only 23.
I'm not disputing the fact that Carroll was a decent player, he is, but he's definitely not worth £35million. It obviously isn't his fault as it was Liverpool's fault for agreeing to pay so much. He was a much better player at Newcastle and it would do him good to return to the Sports Direct Arena.
