Had a look at the old Golf prices in the nearest bookie chappies office to where I work at lunch time and I noted that 8 out of the top 10 in their market were European! A bit of an overreaction methinks and this policy seems to indicate that the Europeans, in the main, are going to be no value whatsoever. The reverse may apply though to the non-European chaps.

I'm no golf expert whatsoever but read in yesterday's 'Observer' that the Open course this year has 206 bunkers on it. They said that accuracy is therefore going to be so much more important than the ability to hit the ball a long way as its a venue that is akin to threading a needle.

Jeff - at the moment ive only looked at the top 20 in the rankings as this course tends to favour the top players at the time... Back in 2001 when Duval won it he was the top player in the world... Seve was ranked number 1 for one of his two victories here. And when Tony Jacklin won this way back in 1959 he was at the top of his game as he went on to win his next tournament by 7 shots...

So it seems that you need to be on your game for this particular course, plus you need a little bit of luck but they all need that... I cant see anyone outside of the top 20 in the betting... Which one, well that's what im trying to find...

I think you have to carry form into this tournament more than any other, but to be truthful i havnt picked the winner at this event ever...!!!<yikes>

So listen to me with a serious pinch of salt...<laugh><laugh>
