We played Sunderland in a friendly the other year and Elmohamady looked a right handful. Quick winger who had a decent cross on him. He would be a good signing if you got him
From the HDM article this morning 'Bruce still has plans to snare at least two more new faces ahead of the new campaign, with a firm interest held in Sunderland's central midfielder David Meyler and winger Ahmed Elmohamedy.' Well that's a bit of a let down if true. I think we need 2 wingers (Elmo+ 1 other,hopefully King), defensive cover (Keane), possibly another striker on top of Proswitchz and another central midfielder (Meyler or Tunnicliffe or whoever). Then I would be very hopeful that we could be a genuine promotion contender.
Kinda contradicted yourself there I'm not sure we need Meyler unless SB doesn't rate McKenna (or Evans). Elmo I'd happily have, he'd be a frightening prospect in the CCC.
He took the first bit from the HDM. We actually do need another midfielder as Olofinjana isn't up to it and the jury's still out on Cairney.
I think Cairney is good enough, he just needs to toughen up, which he probably will do under Bruce. Olofinjana didn't look up to it last season and I agree if he doesn't want to be here he shouldn't be kept. If we are in for a permanent, would love to see Liam Bridcutt come in from Brighton.
