I didn't know that Northy. No wonder you didn't like what he said. Honestly though, I don't think Oddball means any offence to anyone. He's just a bit "out there" that's all.

Would you accept an apology if he comes up with one?

You're messing with my head now!

Of course it could be said you've caused offence yourself in depicting a black man by using a picture of an afro.

I reckon we're all getting a tad over sensitive these days.

Matt....Got to say I think this is nonsense mate. All Half-successful Premier League clubs have to have a large squad. As Dave said, these players all know that it's a squad game these days. It's the only way we can go forward. Embrace it and enjoy the ride!!

Northolt any man black or white or green would know he has been in scrap with me if that happened ... Words mean nothing at those times
And I do not make insults end of
My point is this ... Time to back off with the PC rubbish ... I have not insulted anyone ... I may not have the good taste as judged by others and you have no idea what or who I am
Some of my black friends use great language and I can address them as I please ... On here I called Swords the n word as he got it ... I think you can sense if there was a big insult

Swords should take me to court?

I was thinking about Terrygate yesterday and SB's insistence that Ferdinand could've done nothing about the trial as it wasn't him that complained. Now I don't know the ins and outs of law but I didn't think a third party could get offended on behalf of someone else, have it brought to trial and have that person forced to take part in said trial.

Say for example Oddball and I had a row and Oddball used a racial slur against me. Now say North overheard that remark and made a complaint to the police who duly started proceedings against Oddball. If I told the police that it was just a row and myself and Oddball had settled our differences, could North still have the case pursued because he was offended by what he heard and have me dragged through the legal system against my will?

I only raise this because that was Stan's obstinate defence of Anton Ferdinand throughout our debates and it had me kind of wondering.

Appreciate anyone's knowledge of the subject to set me straight on this matter. :emoticon-0148-yes:

On a serious note Swords, i think the answer is Yes. I don't know the exact wording but it something about using words or behaviour that could cause distress to others in the vicinity of the comment. Even if you weren't offended by the remark then it could be judged that others in ear shot could be.
I think this is even more so when the comment/insult/slur refers to race.

Trust me Swords, I'm right. On everything. You should know that by now.

Complaint raised, Crown Prosecution Service investigate, if they decide the complaint is valid and there is a good chance of conviction, prosecution follows. But Yorkshire Hoopster will put me right in the unlikely event of an error....he is the one you should refer to on this, as he is a lawyer.

What a load of complete and utter bollocks.

"All words when put together can be abusive"? "Fluffy Teddy Bear". There's three words put together.

"We ban the unbanable"? What does this even mean?

Whatever words you use are calculated to insult, this much I know.

The problem with the net is that there are too many "characters" trying to be "out there" and "edgy" in a desperate need for validation. Attention whores.

    Keep going.
