Ah, I answered in the other thread :p. Won't really be that bothered if he leaves if we get good money for him, he can be brilliant on his day but can also be completely taken out of the game- too inconsistent.

I doubt this is true, the thing is, when it comes to players being linked to Liverpool, the rumour spreads like wildfire amongst them and they all go in their drones to the betting shops because they are so convinced it's true (deluded). SKY have obviously had an influx of this, just like they did with Aguero, Silva, Mata etc. I wouldn't read to much into it.

If it is true, then Walcott is a complete and utter idiot.

Wouldn't be nice to lose him, but we had bigger losses.
But Walcott was our most effective player after RvP last season and therefore we'd lose 2 key players again.

Bring Afellay as replacement and we wouldn't have lost any quality on the wing, arguably we would have gained some quality.

Hope we keep Walcott as well. It's not like there is a long list of clubs chasing him, so I can't see it being THAT difficult to keep him.

haha awesome. Hope the guy leaves. A poor player who wenger has lost patience with. We all joked about getting 15-20m for him only if loserpool were in for the lad. Well it looks like they are in for him so hopefully we can fleece them for the usual rip off price that only those idiots at anfield will pay.

If we sign him I'm really going to have to eat my words a little, I think the headless chicken is seen strongly in Walcott.

We wait years for a fast, tricky winger and (if we get Walcott) we get one who seems incapable of choosing the right pass/shot most of the time. That's life I guess.

Saying that, you bought him for £14M a couple of years ago didn't you? I'd take him for under ten... And maybe BR can drill some calm into his game (though surely AW has tried, and if he can't...).

i think theres a lot to come from him and i'll actually be (mock me if you must) more gutted about walcott leaving than rvp.

    Maybe...

The thing about this story is that it could actually have legs.

    - We clearly need a fast winger.
    - We've just offloaded Kuyt and Maxi (wingers and big wage earners).
    - Walcott has contractual issues at the moment (doesn't he?).
    - Rodger's system used lots of pace at Swansea - Dyer and Sinclair.

that true unfortunately not to mention liverpol is walcott's boyhood club but i feel and hope hes grown to love arsenal and that may lead him to signing a new contract. Tbh anything under £16mil is a steal.

I think he was 5 mill? up front rising up to 12 mill if he met certain expectations, which, quite frankly, I'm not sure that he did.
Having said that, can't see him going for anything less than 20 million, he's an english international, and you guys are, well, liverpool. I know you don't have Kenny any more, but Wenger is hardly going to let you sign
    him on a cheap

If he's a £20m player then I'm a dutchman. Incredible business for Arsenal if they get more than £10m given the time left on the contract.

    No, no he's not.

Anyway, I really can't see him moving anywhere for more than ten million.

Because we're Liverpool... we certainly won't be offering big money this time!

Though we are willing to swap for Downing <whistle>

Given the wages Pool offered Siggurdsen, not sure they are in a position to offer Walcott what he thinks he is worth. Wasn't he rumoured to be demanding £100k not so long ago?

I think a lot of Arsenal fans underestimate Theo. He is inconsistent, but when he is good he is very good. I think our pay structure is becoming a real pain in the Arse. It is the biggest Wenger's mistake -this idea of the millionaires' socialism. We overpay our squad players and as a result we can not offload them, and underpay our better players so other clubs can easily turn their heads. I think Theo is a real cold shower for Arsene. With RVP he can say again - we can not compete with ManCity money, but Theo is a completely different proposition. If Theo wants to go then god only knows how many our better players feel the same.

I think Walcott wants to play central where he thinks he can buid a real career, and feels he will never have this opportunity with Arsenal. He may be excited by the idea that he can be a Carrol's replacement in Liverpool.

This, in one sentance, sums up exactly what the problems have been with Arsenal this Summer, why some players remain while the club is desperate to shift them, while others can't wait to get away.
