Mackie's winner in the above match. ( Although it nearly feckin killed me. ) ( I thought I was going to do a Muamba and no-one would be able to sing my name to help save me. )
Everton 0-1 QPR Wolves 0-3 QPR QPR 1-0 Chelsea The Squirrel QPR 3-2 Liverpool QPR 2-1 Arsenal QPR 1-0 Tottnham QPR 1-0 Stoke Stoke 2-2 Bolton Of all of those I'll say Liverpool, closely followed by Chelsea and Arsenal.
Mackie's winner against Liverpool, was a sensational turning point in our season, but the more I think about it his goal against Man City was one of those totally surreal moments in football that will stick in the mind forever, a worldwide audience, 20/1 underdogs down to ten men and bang! A quality cross and Jamie launches himself at it to leave Hart & Lescott flailing at thin air, it doesn't get better than that moment...
I absolutely loved the build up, the anticipation and the expectation of the first game back in the big time against Bolton... it wasn't particularly enjoyable after that!
Beating Chelsea 1-0. Inspite of them being down to 9 men. Inspite of the fact they were better than us with 9 men. Inspite of all thats happened since. That was the day I had waited for
Favourite moments from last season? Those after the dust had settled following the Citeh game. Quiet moments pondering our survival; and reflecting on the ways we (with fortuitous Bolton results) had managed to dig ourselves out of an enormous hole. Pondering the fact that our escape from the jaws of relegation was every bit as successful as being promoted as champions the year before. How that can be is one of the curiosities of football I s'pose...
Loved it when Joey Barton taunted the Wolves fans. I know it's not PC to bring up his name in this type of thread but at the time thought it was brilliant.
Forgot my own, lol, has to be Mackie's winner against Liverpoo! Couldn't wipe the smile of my face for weeks! Had to watch it on a ****ty stream with some sort or arabic commentary but a moment I will never forget! NorwayRanger: not a bad one, also loved his inability to place the ball correctly at the corner (can't remember which match) you can say an awful lot about him, but he does have some good banter!
I find it hard to pick just one.....but in no particular order: Mackie's winner against Liverpool!! The final whistle against Chelsea!! Cisse's winner against Stoke and the atmosphere as we heard that Bolton had been pegged back to 2-2!! Me and my two sons literally screaming ourselves hoarse when Mackie put us 2-1 up at City, with 10 men!! Martin Tyler telling us that Rangers were safe after Aguerro's winner!! The fantastic celebrations between me and the two sons when the winning goals went in at every home win!!
Tough to decide as there were some great moments as has been stated above. For me...after a few minutes of uncertainty standing in a pub in Paris, it has to be the moment I knew we had done it and stayed up. Just utter utter joy and relief.
