Place your bets on how many games John "Im not racist" Terry will be banned for by the FA

    I predict 5 games.

If they're being consistent it should really be eight.

So I reckon it'll be three games suspended and a warning about his future conduct...

Honestly? I got a sneaking suspicion that there will be no ban.

If he gets charged (I'm not convinced he will to be honest) then I think it will be an 8 match ban with 5 suspended leaving him to serve a 3 match ban.

I'm not sure I can see how the FA can get away with any ban, seeing as how he was not guilty in a court of law. I don't expect the FA to touch the minefield of suspensions given the fact they can hide behind the courts on this one.

He should be commended for leading his country magnificently in the Euros, not slated for some tit for tat nonsense with quaver lips brother.Ashley young and white pele should be banned for their disgraceful performances representing the country rather than Terry

<laugh> You keep deluding your self that he was the main man. Fact is Gerrard was the captain of England and this came with him being England's best player at the Euro's.

Cos there were two different offences.

In court he had to be proven to have carried out a racially aggravated public order offence. Which means they had to prove he specifically targeted Anton with threatening abuse, at least partly because he was black. Which was patently not the case - he targeted him with abuse cos they were two footballers on opposite teams having a tiff.

The FA simply has to prove that he used offensive language during a confrontation, and that language was related to Anton's race. The offensive language is proved, all the FA has to do is decide, on balance of probabilities, was he 'just repeating' what Anton said (in which case why not say "I didn't say that"?) or was he raising the bar after Anton brought his *ahem* indiscretions into things.

In other words, the CPS had to show that, beyond reasonable doubt, Terry meant to be racist and the argument was at least partly motivated by Anton being black. The FA just has to show that Terry was probably using a racist term during an argument and in an effort to offend Anton or wind him up.
