As I was casually wandering through the pages of Wikipedia, I stumbled upon the old Inter-Cities Fairs Cup. In the inaugural season, (1955-58) London was represented by London XI, as opposed to a singular London team (as in the case of Birmingham City and Barcelona), which got me wondering, although highly (!) unlikely, would there be a market for perhaps a charity mini-league, where the best XI from each city/area played against each other for the whatever cup?

    For example, you could have:

    Manchester (Utd/City)
    Liverpool (Pool/Everton)
    North London (Spurs/Arsenal)
    East London (West Ham/Leyton Orient)
    South London (Milwall/Charlton/Palace)
    Birmingham (Villa/Birmingham)
    West London (Fulham/Chelsea/QPR)
    South Wales (Cardiff/Swansea)
    East Anglia (Norwich/Ipswich)
    Yorkshire (Hull/Leeds/Huddersfield/Bansley)
    Tyneside (Sunderland/Newcastle)

You get the picture? It could be a one off event with minimal matches (5 in a group, 4 matches, winner of each group go into a final). Would provide a temporary respite for fans at war with each other, a little bit of unity etc. and a nice tournament for us to sink our teeth into. Thoughts?

Would be an interesting spectacle. But I wouldn't fancy cheering on the likes of Wilshere and Szczesny, personally!

Millwall and Charlton are South London, along with Palace.

Maybe go one step further with Yorkshire:
South Yorkshire (Sheffield Wednesday, Sheffield United, Doncaster, Barnsley)
    West Yorkshire (Leeds, Huddersfield, Bradford)
    North Yorkshire (Middlesbrough, York)
Greater Manchester (Wigan, Bolton, Oldham, Stockport, Rochdale)
    Lancashire (Blackburn, Burnley, Blackpool, Preston)
Irritating Bit of the Midlands (Derby, Forest, Notts county)

East London would be West Ham and Leyton Orient - our feeder club, and a club where we send our youth team to gain experience...

"Gooner LB" before Benny? How has someone who isn't even worthy of knowing their name in the team before 1 of the best LBs in the league?

Also no RVP? If you're going to include Luka then you've got to let Robin stay surely.

VdV is also crap on the right, would rather have Lennon/Oxocube.

Ade and RVP together! Then watch them scrap while the ball is down the other end.

Haha, yeh fair enough. VP as striker then.

Can't remember the lb's name and i'm busy at worl so couldn't look him up.
He was very good in their run in though when they closed us down. I like benny, but he isn't as good going forwards people make out, and has a mistake in him maybe 1 in 2 games.
