Who would you suggest we sign for the left wing position?

Jonas's job regardless of where he plays on the pitch has always been the same, protect the full back. He wins us free kicks around the opponents box whether he is playing 442 or 433 or any other system. Our system is picked on player availability. Jonas has proved that he can graft in either system. We don't know what the plans are for next season. However I'm willing to bet that if we keep ba then we won't be playing the system we finished last season with going on comments from pardew and ba over the last few days. Leads me to think that 2 central strikers will be played, either that or cisse will move left. Anyway, every fan has his/her idea on how we should play. For me, we need a LB, CB, and a striker as a priority.

Well, I'm not going to argue anymore about Jonas, because at the end of the day, no one will be playing every game, so Jonas will be used in more ways than one. You're wrong about his job always being the same, he was a holding midfielder in our 4-3-3 system. Sorry that you can't grasp the idea, but he was.

What I'm going to pick out, this time, is the point you made about if Ba stays, we will be playing two central strikers.

That's not necessarily true. Again people not realising that we'll be playing more games. We'll have Europa and Premier League games.

Which means we could still play our 4-3-3 system with one central striker, but use Ba in one game, and then 3 days later use Cisse. Both strikers will be happy getting time in their favourite position, and we'll have a quality striker for our Europa campaign and our Premier League campaign.

It wouldn't be wise, IMO, to use both of them together too often, like we did last season.

It really just depends on the game mate. Some games we might play 4-4-2, others 4-5-1, others 4-3-3, who knows?

I think this is why Pards wants to buy a 3rd striker, so we can play quality strikers every game.

I did actually say in my post that we could be playing both up top or ba could play central with cisse going to the left but never mind.

You also need to understand that for every person you dig out by saying we need to realise that we have more games next season, you your self have to realise that we may only have 2 extra games. Nothing is certain in football. We have to qualify yet pal.

Agreed mate, sorry for being a bit argumentative like <cool>

But I think we should be positive and plan for qualification.

Matty Pattison. My insider information tells me that he's bulked up a bit since leaving us and he's tearing up the South African league.

The reason the stats seem a bit naff is because, in the issue of fair play, he's been playing with his legs tied together.

I'm happy with Jonas and think Ferguson is a real talent who could step up this season. Benni and Marveaux give us further options. Be bottom of my priority list beneath left back, centre back, a striker or two.
