Not surprised by Flyer's ******ed reaction: The Justice system and due process is wrong. As Stan said the other day, whatever the verdict we must accept the Magistrates decision. This whole farce has finally come to an end. Thankfully we can all move on now and look forward to the football season ahead.
Mine too. Kerry, where the hell were you for the last 8 months when I was getting torn a new one for saying the same thing? This thread is pathetic and entirely predictable. Anyone who thought the outcome was going to be anything other than this should take a long hard look at themselves. The whole thing was a joke from start to finish and now its over you can't accept the Magistrates decision. Its so utterly childish. I'm sick of everyone having their heads stuck up their arses and when the inevitable happens and common sense prevails, they start crying foul. What a sham.
Swords, don't start all that again. You have been saying that Anton should have halted the trial, but as FFS says in the rest of his post, which you have oh-so-selectively quoted, he had no ability to do this. Really, you're starting to come across very much the WUM others claim you to be. This isn't about you point-scoring, or trying to turn other people's views into some kind of justification for your own opinions. This is about racially abusive words, admittedly spoken in anger, by one man to another, and the maniputation of the facts by well-compensated lawyers to bring the threshold of proof below that 'beyond reasonable doubt' line that meant the judge then had no option but to dismiss the case. In Scotland, as has been often stated, this would have ended in a 'not proven' verdict, meaning that whilst the procecution had not shown conclusively that he did it, the defense also were not able to show conclusively that he didn't. And sadly for the prosecution, in England Terry's well-paid lawyers didn't need to do anything like as much convincing as those for the CPS.
Agree, it was one of our own perpetuating this rubbish that sent me over the top. It's all over except for the toxic receptions for these players at the derbys, I hope.
This is the verdict I predicted - what a monster waste of everyones' time, money & reputation - the issue should never have progressed this far and should have been settled and put to bed 8 months ago. Now, at last, all parties concerned can move on to the upcoming season.
I think the atmosphere on 15th September will be poisoneous, at best. I will be the first one there giving Terry grief. He lost the head at our place last year big time. We must make sure we all let him know what we think of him and his not guilty verdict.
Just read the full official report of the court case. A depressing read. The way it finally concludes to a not guilty verdict is bizarre and contradictory to earlier statements in the report. They're now discussing whether Terry should get the England captaincy back on Talksport! Beggars belief.
Good decision by the judge, complete and utter waste of time he was always going to be not guilty,no one on the pitch heard anything and for the prosecution to rely on a lip reader = laughable.
The only dignified way to end this now is a joint statement from both players saying that this has been the result of a misunderstanding ( don't care if it's true or not) that should never have gone so far, neither holds the other to blame, no grudges will be held, racism and racist abuse in any form should be strongly condemned, and both sets of fans asked to show respect to their opponents. Chances of this happening - zero.
Why cannot people see that Anton was a witness not the accuser. Swords you do seem to have a downer on Anton and i dont understand why. he has done nothing wrong. My own opinion is that the 'C' word is more offensive than 'black'. Suggest that you, Swords and others, now the case is concluded stop using it in its abreivated form. The 'boy' used it a lot on the old 606 and it was only after a number of reps to the mods made them do anything. (Mods here please note, to some of us that is not acceptable as there are children and ladies on this board)
No real surprise!! Terry said it....no doubt. The case just wasn't proven "beyond all possible doubt". Time for everyone involved and on here to move on!!
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/jul/13/anton-ferdinand-john-terry-victims-racism Says it all really!
Start what? That post really annoyed me. How the hell can I be wumming when two other blokes directly below me said the same thing? (Which equally annoys me because where the hell were they for the last eight months?!! ) Listen mate, when you start wriggling and pulling all sorts of excuses out of the sky (Scotland? For fu*k's sake) it doesn't show you in a good light at all. Even Oddball this morning held his hands up on something or other. Its an altogether more dignified reaction. Have a bit of humility for God's sake.
I seem to think that Anton Ferdinand did not report this it was a member of the public, if this is the case then why do people continue to hound him, terry himself should have kept his trap shut and not said what he said when Sky cameras picked up all the incidents and he might have still been Englan captain. I am only surprized that he didn't change into his full chelski kit for the verdict!.
And start using it in its full form? I don't quite get you Colin. I wasn't even aware I was using it at all. And are children using this site? I must say that never occurred to me. Are you certain of this? It would seem inappropriate, not to mention rather odd if that is indeed the case.
Of course! I would suggest ESPANACOL get his kids a DVD of Barney&Friends rather than letting them log onto an adults football discussion forum. Is it just me or does that chap come out with the most peculiar of statements every now and then?
