Queens Park Rangers are poised to loan out controversial midfielder Joey Barton to the Championship with Blackburn Rovers leading the chase.

The 29-year-old is banned for the first 12 games of the season following his shocking sending-off against Manchester City on the final day of last season when he elbowed Carlos Tevez and scuffled with City players amid ugly scenes.

Barton was stripped of the captaincy, fined six weeks’ wages and removed from QPR’s pre-season tour of Asia.
The club also warned that if he seriously breached their disciplinary rules again, he faced the sack.

However, manager Mark Hughes still recognises Barton’s ability as a player and sees a loan to the Championship, where there is a greater volume of league games over the early part of the season, as an ideal way to run down the player’s ban quickly.
Barton would be available and match fit before November, while Blackburn are keen for him to help their promotion charge. Nottingham Forest have also enquired and QPR expect others to follow, but Blackburn manager Steve Kean is at the front of the queue.

Hughes is continuing to re-shape his squad. Talks are ongoing with Blackburn winger Junior Hoilett and Celtic’s South Korea midfielder Ki Sung-yueng.
The 23-year-old is valued at around £7million and QPR owner Tony Fernandes has confirmed his interest.

How would that work? Blackburn take Barton on loan so he can serve his ban, maybe play a couple of games and go back to QPR?

Maybe its part of a deal to bring Hoillett? Even though Hoillett's now linked with a German Club.

The proof is in the pudding. The pudding being the 25 man squad.

    Fair enough.

He would drag himself, the team, the Club, you and me, into the gutter if he he was permitted.

Was your comment sincere? I interpreted it as facetious.
I've had a bad day and a few beers.
You going to the Southampton game?

Na, genuine Bellers. Those poor fans have been put right through the ringer. The thing that annoyed me most was everyone in the media were having a go at the fans all season long for their protests. Saying they weren't real fans and sh*t when the fact was, when Venky's came in, they was in mid-table under Allardyce and they seen their Club gradually destroyed by that bunch of cu*ts and their puppet Keane.

    Depressing stuff mate.

(P.S. I haven't even looked at the Irish meet-up thread yet but I'm heading over there right now!)

Got to say thinking about this in depth...this is really brilliant man management....

Barton goes to Blackburn, gets match fit whilst serving ban....PLUS QPR get to monitor his behaviour, any naughty incidents - BANG bye bye Joey...

Plus we open up the channels of communication with Blackburn to sign Holliet...

Its a win win situation all round.

Is there anyway the Rangers board, could replace the coalition government, we need to get shot of "Call me Dave" and "Nausating Nick Clegg" asap...
