So annoyed with myself. I was looking at the betting for the upcoming season yesterday, and saw that Pompey were 5/1 to get relegated. Thought that wasnt a bad price, but thought i would wait before i put a bet on. No odds now available, but likely to be about 6/4 at best. How great it would have been to be laughing at their misfortune,as well as making money out of them for their third relegation in 4 seasons.
Hahah, Billy is basically being a diluted version of David Nugent - sucks if your a fan of the team on the end of it, but if he's at your club you love seeing the reactions.
I wouldn't love it if he were a player at my club and I wouldn't support any players from my club behaving similarly. I'm on twitter or facebook so I'm ignorant to whatever they say on their but if you point me to comment of Pompey players being jackasses I'll condemn them all the same. My idea is Jimmy Dickinson, a true icon on fair play, sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct but unfortunely the world has changed too much and nowadays the football world if full of cheats, thugs, jackasses, adulterers and charletons.
He's a jackass because he's going out of his way to rile up people assosicated with a rival team, over an issue that has nothing to do with him, with stupid and purely comment. He's behaving in a similarly to way SB3 behaved towards you last season, and SB3 was a jackass then.
But didn't pompey fans have a go at him on twitter first or did he just start the whole debate on twitter?
But it was a tweet/message between Sharp and two people he is friends with, Cotterill and Halford. He told Halford to text him so it was clearly just them having a laugh, and Halford gave some back if you wish to condemn him for reacting too. He didn't do a general tweet to Pompey fans about today's news did he? He tweeted his two mates in jest and when the PFC fans jumped on him, and threw abuse at him he ssssh'd them back. I don't see the issue.
As I said. I'm not on twitter or facebook. I only saw the comment as they wre posted on this thread and in the context it was presented it didn't look like mates having a laugh to me, it looked like him getting involved in a conversation between two other people just to wind them up. Perhaps a clarification of the situation before posting extracts from twitter it would have prevented a misunderstanding.
I'm not on twitter. I dont know. I commented only on how it appeared to me in the context of the tweets that were added to this thread.
That's fair enough - I wasn't having a dig at you. Sharp and Halford played together at Sheffield United and I think Cotterill was there at the time too.
The Pompey fiasco goes to show what could have happened to us if Markus had not come in for us. We were almost bought by those crooks who bought Coventry. Narrowly missed that one. I agree with most that the best way out is to let the rot go and start a new club. Can't see how they are going to meet the FL conditions to start the season. If they cannot start the season what happens to them? Do they go to the bottom of the pyramid?
