Thought it was clear but obviously not.

Others on here are reminisicing about missing the old times when we basically weren’t very good. You were then being sarcastic about missing memories of Vauxhall motor, Rochdale and getting relegated so I put the old video of a qpr fan clearly not enjoying himself during times that others on here are reminiscing about.

Just a comment about people on here having rose tinted views of the past and the video demonstrates that it wasn’t actually that fun very often. Nothing complicated. Clearly m previous posts have put you on edge

Nice post Eamon great memories I always used to stand in the Loft to the right of the goal really miss that place, also got completely crushed there when we played Leeds '74 that was our record gate 35,000 however that didn't include about 5000+ that jumped the gate.

QPAAAH,forgot about golden goal tickets never won I remember buying one and it had 0.35 seconds as I was 5 minutes late getting in I didn't exactly get my monies worth :) recently found a bunch of checkered fronted programes and quite a few have autographs on the back but I can't make out who all of them are.

Brilliant OP, mad great to have DT back and on form. Did your c&ck enjoy the sandwich?

As was pointed out earlier, the thread makes me kinda sad as it mentions historic and memorable moments from the past that I never had the chance to be a part of - mostly through age, but also (due to work and school) down to never actually having been to that many games.

But we will move forwards, and create fantastic moments and memories in the new ground. Whilst I'll miss Ellerslie Road (haven't had the privilege of sitting in the loft yet, and I may never get to), we'll all have our own new spot to call our own, our own favorite bits of history at the new site, and probably a new version of Vauxhall Motors or Rochdale to try and forget as well.

But the one thing we can all treasure is the fact that we were there during the bad times as well as the good. As DT pointed out some months ago and reminded us of above, the rapid expansion and branding campaign will draw in new fans, people who weren't there for the bad times, who didn't have to beg a steward to be let in to a 0-0 draw against Ipswich (probably the only time Dyer will last more than 45 minutes on the pitch at LR) after arriving at half time (one of my first games, and all my fault, my 4 mates who were with me gave me carp about that for a long time!), who didn't see the amazing atmosphere of beating Oldham in the playoffs (I was there for the home game and the Playoff beamback) and the painful walk from the Millennium Stadium after losing to Cardiff (again, I made the journey, and met Peacock making the same walk back to his car), and who didn't see us lift the Championship trophy - surely the sweetest moment at LR, after the Faurlingate saga.

Be patient to the newbies who come though - they'll help to fill our new stadium, and be the moaning old gits in 40-50 years time, when we're looking to move into a new ground :)

it is my home and i have been dwelling there since 1958..
when the bulldozers come in i will tell the council to sling their hook..
i dont want to be relocated to a flash new home on a poncey estate with a flush handle toilet and foreign neighbours..
i am gonna barricade myself in the Ellerslie road karsi with my 1966-67 scrapbook and a signed photo of Alan Wilkes and the only way i will be coming out will be in a wooden box..

I drive a modified 9-3 HOT AERO COUPE which puts out 325BHP ... It makes me smile when you see the surprise on the average M3 driver at the traffic lights .. Queens I could drive mime over to you pick you up watch a game at LR and get you back two hours before you got up in the first place and its run still being run in at 138,000 .. name another car that can do this?

Only sad old architects drive saabs, I thought you'd be smokin a Prius DT to save the Planet?

Good thread holmesy, when I met the future mrs WBA she lived on Aldbourne Rd and when I crashed over a her place I would have to drive past the ground at 6am most weekdays on my way to my office in Bermondsey. Always sounded the car horn every morning. I love my club even when we were / are completely useless. I don't want to be the next Arsenal I like our fallibility

From the upstairs loo at her place I could see the LR floodlights, I knew then she was the one

Great article. I'll be very sad when LR closes its gates for the last time. Lots of memories. Can't understand the mocking from some on here. Loftus Road has given me some fantastic memories over the years..........watching our best team ever.........watching Stan play in a European competition.........watching my two sons enjoy the special atmosphere, especially the last two seasons, winning the Championship and then winning some great home games towards the end of last season.........plus lots more besides. Bad memories too of course, but it's all part of the nostalgia. I'm sure there'll be a few tears when we leave the old girl for the last time!!
