Anyone know EXACTLY what this book '50 Shades of Grey' is? I'm guessing it must be some kind of inspiring D.I.Y home make-over guide for lasses.

Mrs Obi has locked herself away alone in our bedroom for days now working on some new project. I'm sure she must be completely revamping the bedroom big style, because I heard her using what sounded like power drills, belt sanders and at one point what must hae been a chainsaw.

Bless her, she must be working really hard. I think she's even injured herself a few times too, judging by some of the shrieks and cries of pain she's let out.

But she refuses help. When I asked her if I could do anything she shouted "**** off, I'm busy!"

I can't wait for the surprise of the grand opening of the new bedroom (besides I'm getting a bad back from sleeping on the settee).

Anyway, this book must be a real inspiration. Like one of those 'reinvent yourself' awakenings momentss. She's even rediscovered religion - she keeps calling out for God. Isn't that good.

I'm really pleased for her. So has anyone's elses other halves been gripped by this clearly enlightening and inspiring book? If so, what are they doing to surprise you

Don't let women get into something new ffs. They shouldn't be allowed to do anything outside the kitchen or the bedroom.

It's basically BDSM soft porn for chicks.
Lots of ladies like to be alone when reading it....:1980_boogie_down:

She didn't shout that, she shouted that she had company.

    <yikes><yikes><yikes><yikes>

So, .... so.. so it's not.. not an innocent, home make-over D.I.Y book then? It's not 50 shades of grey paint, is it?

And, ...and that.. that wasnt a belt sander was it?

Well it was a smoothing machine, but not a belt sander.

hahaha brilliant - I'd rep you but I need to spread it around!

In all seriousness, books like this made my piss boil...They're the literary equivalent of Steps or Boyzone...The writer has a relative amount of talent and a brilliant business sense, tapping into a market saturated by gimmicks and raped it for all its worth. Just like Twilight, I understand why its popular, but it annoys me that in comparison to so many books that are forgotten or never get off the ground in the first place its ****ing ****e!

Dan Brown is the same, its a page turner, but in terms of literary quality its piss poor!

Tragedy! I know you're One For Sorrow, but No Matter What say, theses bands are NOT Better Best Forgotten... Perhaps we play by a Different Beat, but I have a Picture Of You which has started a Chain Reaction... I'm perhaps so mortified I might Stomp all night now. They are So Good, maybe even the Key To My Life.

Though I'll definitely be going a Deeper Shade Of Blue in 5,6,7,8 seconds, I can console myself with the thought that, When the Going Gets Tough, the Last Thing On My Mind will be your Words...

Wow, if anyone's going to love me for a reason, it'll definitely be because they're too weak to resist my gay/friendly dance knowledge! All without wiki too!! My sadness is all that I need

Hey hang on AB, have you been secretly visiting Mrs Obi to show off your impressive 69 skills (rep power obviously <whistle>).

If so, I'll have no chance now, she'll never look back after that.
