Part of the reason the team is doing so well is that they all get on well together and play for each other.

 

Love the bit about international days for the canteen. That, coupled with the Islamic prayer room are great touches by the club.

 

Jonas is literally my favourite Toon player since the days of Nobby. Maybe not the best in the team (but he is up there) but his graft and attitude are second to none, and sand in the face of the 'you need English grit' brigade. Vice captain and rightly so.

 

It's stories like this which start me buzzin for the new season. Can't wait, really can't...

Exactly this, whoever came up with that idea needs a maHAssive pat on the back. It's so simple that you can't believe its never been done before, but what a move! Not only does it help combat homesickness but the fact that every player has to try gets the lads talking about culture and backgrounds, brings them together and makes them feel important to the team...Simple, but so clever!

 

Great article and brilliant to see the lads all seem happy.

Would have been easy for the likes of Jonas + Colo to walk after relegation, but they didn't. They not only stayed, but grew stronger on the pitch and have both become Toon heroes.

Jonas can be infuriating at times, but he always gives his all - and those few moments of magic are most definitely worth it.

He has proven how versatile he can be, covering full back, defensice midfield, ether flank. Great man, great attitude. And great to see he's settleld here.

The season can't start soon enough for me.

Jonas is the heart beat of our side. For what he might lack in final ball sometimes, he pays back double in energy, enthusiasm and work rate. Love him.

This just makes me even more hungry to somehow get myself a table at the training ground. The Senegalese Goat Curry would be preferable but I don't mind a bit of cimichurri on my steak so Argentine day will do. I have always found dutch cuisine ****e bar something I tried called a Frikandel - basically some kind of sausage. Hang on that doesn't sound good does it, I went to Amsterdam and tried the sausage
