If they think the money's there, they'll try to get it.

I think 8m euros is fair, I hope it happens because he would make a serious middle 3 with Cheik and Yohan.

Anita is class, but 8m? That's a bit steep.

I posted my hope for next season -

    Marv----------Cisse-----------HBA

    --------------Cabaye------------

    ------Anita----------Tiote--------

    Santon----Colo-----Saylor----Debuchy

    ----------------Krul---------------

I think we should go to 6.5 for Anita, take it or leave it. As already mentioned, our midfield would be top class if combined with Cabs and Tiote

Looks good, but I'd prefer to play Ba ahead of Marveaux, whilst him and Ben Arfa are good attacking players, I don't see them scoring any more than 10 absolute max...Whilst Ba didn't score out wide left, he came close and had chances, plus, Cisse looked like he WOULD score out wide, so could just swap the two around. At the end of the day, we need goals and I'd rather score 2 of the highest scoring strikers in the Premier League than a lad who, yes, looks like he'll be quality but has scored the same number of goals in his career as Ba did last season!

Whilst I agree to an extent, I don't know if Ba will be happy or not in this formation, but it gets the best out of Cabaye and Ben Arfa.

However, I could see this working maybe -

    -------Ba--------Cisse-------

    -----------HBA-------------

    ----Anita--Cabaye-Tiote-----

    Santon--Colo--Saylor----Debuchy

    ------------Krul-------------

It would make a lot of our play very central, but we can rely on Debuchy and Santon for runs along the wing.

I just don't think we can play 4-4-2 with HBA, he needs the freedom he got in the 4-3-3 system, same for Cabaye.

However, I think this sort of talk is kind of pointless, because next season will be very different to previous seasons. We'll rarely be putting out our strongest side, and we'll have to rotate often.

Rumours kicking about that some Kuwaiti is trying to acquire NUFC.

Good timing, I'm hearing Ashley wants out of NUFC and SD after Olympics. He might be a chump but he knows how to make a few quid here and there.

Unreliable source wouldn't worry about it, happy with Ashley's plan right now.

    How about a 4-2-3-1

    -------------Krul--------------

    Debuchy--Douglas--Colo--Santon

    -------Tiote--------Anita------

    Ben Arfa------Cabaye-----Ba/Winger

    -------------Cisse-------------

Not sure but can't Anita cover LB as well?

Interesting that Jonas doesn't get a look in and Ba onlky makes aobut half of the preferred formations.

Would be nice to think that our squad was strong enough to leave players like Jonas, Marv, and Ba on the bench, before we even get to the likes of Vukic, Ferguson, etc

I'd wager (and I'm not saying I agree here) that Jonas is one of the first names on the team sheet. I think Pards would sooner drop Ba, Anita or even Benni before Jonas. It's not really a relevant argument with so many games plus likely injuries and what not but it'll be interesting to see who gets the nod in the big games.

The fact we can talking about dropping him gives you a bit more confidence that we will be able to handle the added demands of the Europa campaign (assuming it lasts more than two games).

I think Jonas is without a doubt one of our key players. Helps out massively coming back and has a better engine on him than probably anyone in the league. Also is a bit of a outlet when we're under pressure, etc (think he won the most freekicks in the league last year, I maybe wrong but i'm sure I heard that somewhere) If we are sticking to 4-3-3 next year it would have to be some player who comes in and takes the spot of Tiote, Cabaye or Guti! If we sign Anita I expect him to rotate with all 3 of them, possibly getting a few games at left-back. Think he would see plenty of action but if I had to pick a team to win in a must win game, he'd be on the bench imo. Hopefully he proves me wrong!

I'd have Jonas on my teamsheet every week. Nobody should underestimte the part he played in that unbeaten start which set up the great campaign to follow.

On Anita looks a good player. NUFC Blog do make me laugh with their scattergun approach to rumours. "Throw enough **** about, some of it will stick" must be their mantra.

Ive thought this for a bit. I reckon he puts down Jonas, Colo, Krul, Cabaye, Cisse and then looks at the rest

Jonas was my player of the season for what it's worth. His workrate was exceptional in every game, he was brilliant in every position he was asked to play in (superb in midfield IMO) and I can't remember him having a bad game - something I can only level a Krul.

I think he adds something truly special to the team spirit and embodies so much of what makes us good at the minute. Tell you what though, he had a lot of competition this season, some brilliant performances throughout.

Anita would be a good addition, but unlikely.
