Report If she wins that as impressively as she won the Lancashire Oaks I wonder if the Arc will be a possibility.
If she wins the Irish Oaks by 10l in a relatively fast time you might want to tone that down. In the meantime I can do no more than agree with you.
In yesterday’s ‘Guardian’ they were hinting at the St Leger as a possible target for Great Heavens. In saying that though Mr Gosden does seemingly have quite a few possibles for that heat. But as he continues to close on Mr O’Brien at the top of the 2012 trainers tree it wouldn’t surprise me if old boy Gosden runs more runners at ‘home’ rather than abroad in an attempt to secure his first championship. Great Heavens was rated 98 prior to her Haydock Park romp and it will be interesting to see what her revised perch is. It should be very high as she routed Shimmering Surf by 5 lengths (was on 107) and Set To Music by 6.25 lengths (was on 105).
And she's an improver. I love these late developers that aren't pushed as 2yos. Lovely introduction late September and 3 runs this year - "comfortably", "unchallenged" and "eased down, impressive". She hasn't been extended yet. We have no idea how good she could be. A G1 race will tell us more.
She'll probably win a group 1. To be fair the performance the other day was most likely enough to have won a few of the 3 year old ones so far this season but there's a massive difference beating a really poor generation of Classic horses and beating the best of the older brigade.
Cor blimey I see that Great Heavens has been raised a whooping 18 pound, by the official handicapper, following her Lancashire Oaks success and now sits on a perch of 116. This puts her ahead of the likes of Derby runner-up Main Sequence (115) and Oaks winner Was (113). And also not that far off highest rated 3YO Camelot (124). In fact if Great Heavens continues to show this level of improvement she may in time be able to equal her full brother Nathaniel (126).
