Might have put Beresford in for Bernard.

On a side note, if any of you think Beresford or Bernard were better left-backs than Enrique, then you are nuts.

The current lads (Colo and HBA excepted) will most likely have more representation if they have another good season (Cisse, Cabaye, Santon, Krul)

Ben Arfa over Nobby Solano? Interesting. I'd personally have Laurent Robert over Ben Arfa at the moment too.

The manner in which Jose left didn't endear him to many. He was well liked as a player and would have made most peoples fantasy teams but that's all history now.

Anyway it's all about opinions and Tash is entitled to his as much as anybody.

Jose was **** for years at PL level. He was only great for one premier league season, in which he wasn't the most consistent IMO.

I think we should consider years of service and consistency.

I personally think during Shearer's Newcastle years, he wasn't as good in a single season, as Cole was for us, however, Shearer was great for us for most of his long stay here, despite suffering a bunch of terrible injuries. Cole put in a couple of great seasons, scoring a **** load of goals. Shearer's best years were at Blackburn, but he was still awesome for us.

If I just went for short term quality, Cole would be in there ahead of Shearer.

Just don't agree with this. Even in the relegation season I thought Enrique was decent. Got found out a bit due to inexperience at times but even then he displayed all the raw skills. I agree that if we had a left back for years who was consistently good but didn't quite reach the heights achieved by Enrique in his best season, I'd have picked them. For me though, Beresford was defensively poor and didn't offer a great deal going forward (bar the odd wonder goal against Villa or Dynamo Kiev!) and Bernard himself only played for a couple of seasons and I think Enrique was better than him.

Agree with the principle about the manner in which he left but I'm not letting that cloud my judgement. The fact is we haven't been blessed with a great deal of excellent full backs. Warren Barton was absolutely shocking for the majority of his time here and I wouldn't rate Steve Watson, Andy Griffin, Steve Carr or Danny Simpson as better than Habib Beye.

Sorry mate, disagree here too. Cole scored 40 goals in 1 season, which is brilliant but even Cole himself admits this was down to the sheer brilliance of Peter Beardsley, who makes it in to my team. My belief is that Shearer, as a more gifted player than Cole would have benefited even more from Pedro's wizardry.

So based on years of Premier League service, Gazza gets in? My word.
