    Evening Blue Monkey,

I remain disappointed with the nature of Barmby's exit, in fact, I remain disappointed that he's gone at all. I'm not Bruce's biggest fan, but he does have a good record of getting teams up and he's highly regarded by many in the game, so it's probably the best we could hope for.

The only good thing to come out of Barmby's dismissal, is that our owners have backed themselves into a corner with regard to having to spend a few bob(and I'm sure Bruce didn't take the job without a few assurances), so I do expect us to be stronger next season than we were last and we weren't too far off last season, so we're all generally optimistic.

A couple of strikers wouldn't go amiss, there's still plenty of rumours that Heskey's already agreed terms, but nothing official yet, so we'll just have to wait and see.

Hope you manage to get your keeper situation sorted. <ok>

Worryingly for you that sounds very similar to the Keane situation

Club 'Hero', replaced for big name manager not universally rated, likelihood of signing big name players for big money.

Difference is, when you appointed Keane he'd never achieved anything as a manager, whereas Bruce has.

That's not true. I can't believe I'm defending Keane here!!

However the situations are slightly different. Jim was sacked due poor results, Barmby was sacked due to something he said?? Keane acheived promotion with Sunderland (so that is acheiving something) but Bruce although IMO is pretty average, average is considerable better than Keane!!

Fair enough, forgot that he got them promoted. You know what I mean though, Keane was very inexperienced and yet to prove himself. Whereas, Bruce has been around for a while now.

In respect of our two clubs I guess the other point to consider for this new season is our starting points.

Ull will be looking at play-offs as a sign of improvement. I'd be happy with us finishing in the top 10.

One thing that Jewell has done is level the expectation within the club and supporters. Slowly slowly, catchy promotion.

What with this 'ere FFP you can only see the relegated clubs bouncing back. FIFA are a bunch of thick ****s, nice try but their solution is only going to make things worse.

I'd take their £359m debt and turnover compared to our £67m debt and plummeting season ticket sales <wah>

Sorry, I sent this one off on a bit of a tangent. Hopefully Chambers' wise words will entice other players to join us and reserect the fallen footballing collusus that is ITFC <wizard>

At some point in the future, I think, maybe not immediately, but I would be very surprised if it didn't happen...
