Sunderland told to cough up £15m for star Wolves striker Fletcher PUBLISHED: 21:47 GMT, 9 July 2012 | UPDATED: 21:47 GMT, 9 July 2012 Share Sunderland boss Martin OâNeill must match Wolvesâ £15million valuation to land his top target Steven Fletcher. OâNeill was willing to offer £10m for the 25-year-old, who scored 22 goals for the relegated club in the last two seasons. Highly-rated: Fletcher has been a key player for Wolves since his 2010 arrival Many Wolves playersâ wages have been cut by almost half since relegation but Wolves are in no hurry to sell. Winger Matt Jarvis is due for talks about his future this week with QPR and West Ham keen. 15 mill they are talking through there arse if Gyan can go for 12 an international, Fletch is a max 10 if that, looks like we will be looking elsewhere if they dont drop their valuation
This will not happen. I like the lad but £15m is just ridiculous and we wont be paying that. Neither will ANYONE btw.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo.../Sunderland-told-pay-15m-Steven-Fletcher.html They really are taking the piss asking for that amount of money given they are a championship side. That's got me thinking... when was the last time a lower league team received £15m+ for any player? Of course it could all be a negotiation tactic but I'm sure there is much better value out there than this lad.
I bloody hope not cest, 15 MILLION....... I nearly coughed up my breakfast with that. Jog on wolves we wont pay that.
Codswallop :-/ Its not true but if it was id say nice doing business with you but we'll look elsewhere. I imagine theyll try and get as much as possible but will also be realistic in their valuation. £10m is a fair deal imo
Folks depending on how serious you take the Daily Mail, this is the latest report theyre " knocking out " about Mr Fletcher. Now if theres any truth in this figure that Wolves are allegedly after, then I am sorry its way too rich for our club and we tell em to get stuffed..Even our own beloved Cest (Iam sure) would want us to stay clear if this was a true reflection of their price tag for the lad. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo.../Sunderland-told-pay-15m-Steven-Fletcher.html
I would not rate him much more than about 6 million. Then again, I am not a football manager so my opinion is moot.
No but then again, Fletcher is a far better footballer than Carroll, so £15m doesnt seem that bad in that context. Also, if we paid £15m and he scored 15 - 20 goals then it would never be mentioned. Given his goals to chances ratio at Burnley and Wolves is fantastic, I back him to get 15+ in our team.
How do you derive that Fletcher is a better player than Carroll was at the time of his signing? Carroll had hit 11 goals by December. Fletcher hit 12 all season. I am not agreeing with the £35 million price tag Carroll was attached with either by the way but I maintain that Fletcher is not as good as you all seem to hype him up to be.
Why not £10M with add-ons? If he gets 15-20 goals a season he'll be worth £15M easy, but I just don't think he'll get them. Love him to prove me wrong if he comes, but Wolves must think we're soft if they think we'll pay that.
