Surely he has to lose it, hes gone from saying it was a reply to AF asking if he called him a FBC to Terry saying it was sarcasm.

Hes already contradicted himself and has committed perjury by lying in court.

Some interesting variations of the meaning of "knob head" - perhaps JT was just using #3, a Northern term of endearment?

    He doesn't though does he?
I've been pondering this for a while and I suspect that Swords is NOT a QPR fan. He has such contempt for so many connected to the club that I seriously doubt that he is a genuine supporter!!

    Spot on!!
When will people realise that Swords is a fraud!! He just ignores all reasoned argument and winds people up, saying stuff that he knows will get people annoyed! WUM!!

Says on BBC that his maximum sentence is a £2500 fine?!....seriously, I don't condone racism but is it worth all this negative publicity? I know we all want Terry to end up in the **** but this won't do Anton any good either. We know how it affected him last season.

That's true. Peanuts for him but you can't change the law just because the guy's rich. You add the 8 games and £75000 that the FA will take from him, plus 2 weeks wages (probably about £300000) that the club will take from him, and the £40000 that the FA will take from Chelsea and it all adds up to roughly £377500 + 8 games from Terry and £40000 from Chelsea. And it's not impossible for Chelsea to terminate his contract.

A criminal conviction for racism would affect his reputation, possibly irreparably. There's a lot at stake for him.

Does anyone hear from Ron Atkinson now?

Ashley Cole seems to be playing the role of Terry's poodle in all this, at various times seeming to claim that the abuse was directed at him, telling Anton "you can't talk to JT like that", summoning him to the Chelsea dressing room.
Talk about lack of self respect. If he is called as a witness, along with Terry taking the stand, it should complete the picture of English footballers. A meeting of MENSA this is not.

I think most people on here are QPR fans, why would you not be?. This is an extremely entertaining board and I love reading it. I suggest that most of the more prominent characters on here may all be having a little bit of mickey taking.

I don't like the way that the trial was put back, allowing him to take part in all the high profile matches when there was a chance of him being found guilty. Had he been found guilty back in February then he would have missed out on all of that.

If I was up in court and they set my trial for the week before my holiday to Spain I couldn't get the trial put back so that I could enjoy my holiday first, then come back and face the music. If found not guilty it would make no difference, if guilty then I would have to miss my holiday.

Yes, I know that Chelsea said it would disrupt their business if the trial wasn't put back - witnesses and all that, but are we seriously suggesting that anything football related be put off to the few weeks between seasons just for their convenience?

I heard on radio yesterday that Terry had even tried to get the Magistrate to agree to him not sitting in the dock, it was rightly rejected...

Must say I hate John Terry and Chelsea as much as the next person on here and I would love to see him get done.
    BUT
I really don't think Anton is covering himself in much glory here. I didn't hear at the time but My girlfriend showed me on you tube.
So basically Antons evidence is based on the same you tube footage we have all seen.

This all just strikes me as being a bit tragic to be honest.

Or just honest!! He shook Terry's hand and then later heard / saw the racist element and was rightly upset! Nothing tragic about that.

R74. I've got really mixed feelings and whilst I agree with your sentiment I just think its all created a massive load of chaos for Qpr England Capello and Rio who are all innocent parties.

If it had been clearly said to his face if fully fully understand. But getting upset about afterwards about something you didn't register at the time.
It's still not right i agree but I'm just feel everything has got a little out of proportion given the exact circumstances.

This is an incident which some feel hung over us for the middle part of the season.

For the umpteenth time it is not Anton that brought this matter to the police. A member of the public, which must have been one of us, did. He doesn't want this and has stated that he didn't want this to go to court and that the F.A. should have dealt with it.

Nothing wrong with debating a subject and offering up opposing points of view...

In my view, it all depends on how you read it...it clearly winds some people up, where as with others it stimulates a debate/discussion...sometimes it works, sometimes Swords comes off looking like a bit of a WUM...
