Wont go into detail but, in a time when MPs get a bad press, and rightly so, it's good to see a constituency MP can still be a benefit. I have had a big, big problem with a government department, letter emails and phone calls all brought building frustrations. My last phone call ended with, can I take your name, NO. Can I speak to your supervisor, NO. In desperation I emailed my MP, a phone call from her secretary within 30 minutes chasing up my email, a letter from my MP within 3 days saying she had written to the minister concerned. Today a phone call from the department saying problem solved. Sad I had to contact my MP but good to know it works.
The North East MPs seem to be quite good for this... Maybe it's because they are slightly further from the influence of central government?
Good shout Syd and sometimes the negatives from MP's overshadow the good work some do. A pat on the back there Professor Roberta Blackman-Woods MP I think?
Glad she got it sorted for you syd probably a one off but, fair play to her. Still don't trust the money grabbing gets though as some bright person said years ago how can you tell when a politician is lying? their lips move.
