Demba doesn't want to go as proven by his and his brother Hamady's brother on twitter.

 

It's annoying the **** out of me. I'll be pissed if this drags on all summer, and we lose him a week before the season starts and we have no one to replace him.

 

I personally think he will stay, Demba played a huge contribution in our success last season and I think he recognizes that there will be alot of games next season with us competing in 4 fronts so his concerns about being on the left may have eased due to that

Not a great deal happening as yet, so far it's been all about the Managers during the close season, I think most activity will occur in the final week.
It would make more sense to me if transfers only took place during close season, and no January transfer window.

 

Trust me Tash he won't go, I'm more confident now of keeping all our players than I have been at any stage in the last 5 months.

With comments like this from Pardew, there is a good chance:

“I want Demba to stay. He’s a Newcastle player and all I’m focusing on is making sure he’s a Newcastle player next season.”

A few clubs will be waiting until the last minute to bid in order to stand less chance of being gazumped.

It won't. It'll last 22 more days, tops. From August 1st, the clause in his contract expires meaning his value will increase from £7m to £15m(ish). No one will buy him for £15m when they could have signed him a week before for half the price.
