Hard lines Andy, beaten on the day by the better player. No disgrace, Federer is perhaps the best player the world has ever seen.

Rod Laver is the best player to ever play Tennis.FACT.

Don't understand all the Murray haters. He isn't as charismatic as the other top 3 players and doesn't have as much flair as them, but he is a great player and he will win a grand slam in his career. He is a nice guy,he's just a little shy and likes to keep himself to himself.

He was beaten by the best.

Murray's been in four majors finals and has faced Federer three times and Djokovic once.

Federer's first was against Philippousis, and Nadal and Djokovic also had players who had never won a major before. Murray has been unlucky.

I don't think you can claim that as a fact.

Maybe he should get to finals more often instead of being knocked out by Ferrer, Wawrinka, Berdych, Gonzales, Cilic, Verdasco etc. Del Potro beat Nadal and Federer in the same tournament, and as such has a Grand Slam to his name.

He's not unlucky, he's just not as good.

    Well,I can.
Rod Laver won the calender grand slam, not once, but twice (1962 and 1969) and he couldn't compete in grand slams during the period between 62 and 69 because he was professional and they weren't allowed to compete in grand slams then only amateurs were allowed, otherwise he would of won a hell of a lot more.

Certainly the best I've seen. The other 3 might have the edge physically, but none of them are so aggressive and dominant on a grass court. Great to see.

Were you around to watch Laver? Federer's GS record is unrivalled and when he's at his best no one in Tennis history comes close to him.

    He is as good.

How come he can beat Nadal,Djockovic and Federer in the ATP tournaments and not in grand slam finals? It's all in his head, that's why.

No,but I am smart enough to know that he has won the calender grand slam twice and no one else has done that after him.

    Laver,the best ever.

Roger Federer, the best ever, as proven by his massive Grand Slam haul, a long-standing legend rather than a two-calendar wonder.

How many calender grand slams has Federer achieved?Oh yeah...

Rod Laver couldn't compete in grand slams between 1962 and 1969,in 69 he was allowed to and won all four <laugh>,the guy was a machine.Federer wouldn't even have been able to get a set off him.

Anyway,I'm going out now and when I come back I'll check your answers and hopefully you'd have done a little more research about our friend Rod Laver and you'll be able to tell me how he is the best tennis player ever.

    Adeus xx.

He's as good as Federer, Nadal and Djokovic is he? Let's have a look at some facts (actual facts rather than your interpretation.)

    Djokovic grand slams: 5
    Nadal grand slams: 11
    Federer grand slams: 17
    Murray grand slams: 0

Yep. Looks just as good to me. FACT.

Rod Laver was a ledge Nana, no doubt, but he'd get blown away by today's top players.
