Did anyone see the programme notes where it was mentioned that we could be having a match with Egyptian Premier League team Al-Ahly in the summer to raise funds for the families affected by the Egyptian accent a few weeks ago. I'd actually go to this if it wasn't just a squad game! Would anybody else?

The original plan (if I remember correctly) was for Assem to fly the al-Ahly boys over for a game at the KC. End of the summer, but before the season started.

I still expect this game to be announced as a second home pre-season, I'm surprised it hasn't been confirmed already, I can't see Assem not fulfilling his promise.

Maybe Al-Alhy can't do it/don't want it for whatever reason.

I've been told we've paid millions to play real Madrid in a friendly. You know what that means? We can gloat that we're so good even Madrid want to play us, and that our players can hold their own vs madrids highly enthusiastic and fully commited to winning first team.

Hull City have a free weekend on 8th sept. for this fixture. It would keep the non-Internationals ticking over during International shut-down period. ;)

We don't have many internationals do we ? So most of the squad would be available

    Including young internationals:

    Potentially both our keepers
    McShane
    Cooper (Scotland U19/U21)
    Dudgeon (N. Ireland U21?)
    Evans
Olofinjana (if he's ever fit he might be)
    Cairney (Scotland U21s)
Stewart possibly, if he accepts a call up

Koren retired at the end of their qualifying campaign for the Euros.
