In terms of strikers, I wouldn't be surprised if we put in a cheeky PR bid for Ruud van Nistelrooy... He's available on a free this year and said he isnt after money.

I think we'll also be looking at Marc Janko of Twente (Tiote's old club) who has been prolific for years, alongside the younger players in Eredivisie, van Wolf, Bjorn Vlemincx, etc.

Personally I'd love to see Wolfswinkel here (Not just for the name!) Seems like the goalscorer we need!

Yep, I'd have Larsson. Better than back up quality, he's a cut above Raylor and better than Guthrie, would get plenty of games for us I reckon and would add strength in depth. Good business, an Ashley style signing.

Seb for free, wouldn't be asking too much in wages, a direct upgrade from Raylor who we could then sell (£1m or something).

I make no secret of the fact I rate Seb, excellent in deadball situations and a decent player overall. For a free he's an excellent option and I think he'd definitely be a regular in the matchday squad. He seems like a hard worker too and if he joined us in the summer I'd cum all over the place. <ok>

Ahbonlahor has gotta be one of the most over rated strikers purely because of his pace ! he wouldn't come that cheap either !
As for Larsson it could be we already have a deal in place.. wouldn't mind him, he'd be a decent squad player for our thin squad

I don't want him and I don't rate him, also we have plenty of players like Larsson we need pace.

    Who?

Raylor and Guthrie are the only players I consider 'like Larsson' and he's at least as good as Guthrie. Barton is better fair enough but name me all the players we have who can cross the ball WELL?

I rate Larsson above Raylor & Guthrie. He has more pace imo and more creative, if on a free I'd say definitely try and get him.

The only purpose to buy larsson would be for depth in the squad. Ben arfa and Ryan Taylor are our freekick specialists and by the time we could acquire larsson Hatem will be back in the first team anyway. Sebastian isn't an exciting prospect but may well be useful for if/when injuries take hold. We have exciting times ahead.

Would be a good acquisition on a free. Better than Guthrie, Raylor, etc, would make for good squad back up, I don't see why not

As most of you agree, would be decent for filling out the squad. Only problems I could see with him are that he'll want a higher wage for being a free, and he might have expectations of first team football.

Not a bad player. Not great but decent squad member.

Also against Villa when we got that late free kick I was begging Barton or Guthrie to take it, to call Raylor a free kick specialist is a joke, he's got good technique but in reality he's an awful free kick taker.

And Roger Johnson would be our best CB if he joined... so should be a no brainer. Go for him and Scott Dann if they go down!
