Depends. By available do you mean, transfer listed/looking for a way out? If so I don't know, but there are plenty of "available" players in ones that are within our financial range and would join us. Jack Butland and Jason Steele would be my two preferred targets.

Steele? I don't get what people see in him if I am being honest. Absolutely no control of his area and a total lightweight.

Good shot stopper but absolutely no presence at all.

Maybe I'm just enamoured by his shot stopping but 21 is still very young for a keeper. Plenty of time to learn control of his area, very few keepers have that ability at 21. It was an issue for Hart at first, he soon put it right.

Fair point I guess. I'd not want to take that risk straight away in what may be a relegation battle though.

Sign him and loan him back to Boro?

Whoever Nige signs, I'll be delighted. He can do no wrong as far as I am concerned.

If we sign a keeper what will we do with Forecast?

Does anyone know a struggling, poverty striken club with hardly any fans which is in need of a goalkeeper?

As much as I like Kelvin he'll be completely out of his depth in the Prem. But perhaps he deserves a shot? It would be a little harsh to sign a number 1 keeper

What we really need is a right mid and a cb

I think we all have to give up on Butland. He will have his head turned by spurs or elsewhere.
Its tricky though, Surely kelvin deserves a crack at the prem but at the same time whats the point in spending millions on a keeper that plays second fiddle to him?

If they need a goalkeeper they won't want him! Cleaner, maybe...

Maybe but lots of people thought Rodriguez would have his head turned as well. I think the fact we have been after him for a while might work in our favour. He shares the same agent as Rodriguez, I can't believe Cortese didn't take that chance to sound him out or even agree a contract in principle.

Brad Guzan is available on a free. PL experience and 27. A good age, good price, with experience. Not as long term maybe as Butland but a good choice I think.
