According to the HDM/ our rumours section. Solid. Doesn't look good for Vito though. Also a bit worried that we've paid £250,000 for a loan player. Why can't we just have a permanent goalie?!

maybe the fee rules out amongst other things any callback option

Arsenal were asking for too much unfortunately and there was no-one who City thought was good enough to replace him.

Pitty because i wanted Vito here.

It can't be good for the defence to keep on bringing in new keepers on loan all the time.

He might be, but in terms of consistency as Golaccio said, it's good to have a constant behind you, which Vito was for much of last season.

It could be that SB is doing Rednose a favour - giving Amos a full year as 1st choice GK.......

(......and we might be getting something in return?)

Unless I'm thinking of the wrong bloke ,and I don't think I am , Amos is a very good keeper.

    A very good keeper indeed.

quite surprised we're getting a keeper on loan yet again... why the hell are we not buying one for the future ? the allams always say that they'll give money on a deal to deal basis.. the goalkeeper situation is surely top priority, yet it seems that the club is happy to have another season of playing a keeper who isnt our own... its taking the piss now to be honest, we havnt had a perm keeper since bloody myhill or duke...

Out of curiosity, is Mannone out of contract at the end of this season?

It's about time we had a permanent keeper. It is so long since we have had a permanent I have forgotten his bloody name. Doesn't matter how good he is if he is not our's all that will only be to the benefit of the club that is loaning him to us. Certain positions need a permanent and the Goalkeeper is one of them

Who says Ben Amos will be the No.1 keeper ? We all know we need 2 and Amos is just the first of the 2. £250k loan fee is nothing by todays standards especially on a season long loan. Until the 2nd GK is confirmed why the worry ? But for sure Amos is quality and an improvement on Basso and Gulacsi.

Yeah, but like who? Who is for sale, good enough, and reasonably priced?

We appear to have just got one of the best young goalkeepers in the country (albeit just for a year).

Doesn't matter how good he is? So we get a sack o'****e, but that's ok because he's our sack o'****e? Sorry, I just don't see the sense in that.

Arsenal want rid of Vito thats No secret. On talksport the other night ex.Arsenal player Stuart Robson named 8 players who Wenger wants rid of. Robson said that nobody will take them as they are on far too much money. Bruce and SSN have both said this week we are talking about Vito. So for now Amos can only be considered one of two keepers SB will sign up. I think yes you are correct. Vito is in his final year so if Vito wants to he could see out this season and come to us next summer for nothing out of spite. TWT as always.

NB. What with the issues over RVP, Theo Walcott and the boardroom antics - Arsenal is coming accross as a no go zone.
