That would be great if it's true - The signing of Adebayor is imperative to our plans and gives AVB the chance to play the Spurs way, even if he has ideas of his own.
Asbolutely mate, we deserve some good news after the CL heartbreak and losing one of the best managers we've had in yonks. Just really hope it's true, most ITK's have said Verts will be signing the next day for 5 weeks now, hope my one doesn't join them in the bullsh*t list . Absolutely, Ade was a far improvement on any of strikers we've had in recent years, although I think he needs to work on his finishing as at times he missed some glorious chances last season, his link up play is awesome and I'm pretty sure I saw some stats that said he had the most assists for a striker in the Prem last season. Judging by the signings we're meant to be making, along with the wages being dashed out to both old and new players, the news of some form investment really seems plausible.
you've been pretty accurate in recent weeks SOS, so let's just wait and see mate. Vert's is training with Ajax today apparently. Final session and goodbye's?! the guy i mentioned last night who is the times journalist, (who started the rumours about him signing today) has been backed up by a couple of other people saying his info is normally pretty accurate. bodes well!
Agreed 100%. I am sure he will improve on that. I think a lot of the problem with missing big chances was down to the fact that we were under too much pressure to perform when our form went tits up after January.
Yeah I think it'll be his last session Roo. We don't start training 'til Monday so it'd make sense to still get some fitness work done. Fingers crossed an all, should be an exciting weekend!
Hopefully NOT the same muppet Times journo who was quoting about Benny's contract dispute a couple of days ago????
According to THFC6061's site, Adebayor was the 4th highest contributor to a combined goals/assists stat last season. He got 29 in total (17 goals, 12 assists) and only trailed van Persie, Aguero and Rooney overall, with more assists than any other striker.
Don't count your chickens yet lads... Emma Storey @SSNSpursEmma We understand Adebayor to Spurs is still in the balance. Wages not the sticking point, size of the transfer fee is the issue.#THFC #MCFC
SSN also said Vertonghen was close to signing 3/4 weeks back mate. My friends contact and loads of ITK's on Twitter that I follow are adamant he's signed. Even sending tweets to the Spurs and Under Armour official twitter's joking about "saying when will the signing be announced" and "can they get a shirt with Adebayor on the back". Will be very surprised if he isn't announced by Monday.
I can see why you'd think that as i've seen all of those ITK rumours myself but i've been fed too much crappy info by the so called ITK's over the years. I've learned to listen to journalists over some fat slob dreaming up little stories in their mum's basement. I'm sure some are right but too many have said one thing will happen and when it doesn't they dream up another story to cover their failings. Spurs Community is the worst, they go crazy for a bit of ITK.
Agreed mate, SC is generally full of wannabes and sh*t, I only listen to 3 of the lads from SC as their track record has been decent - Akqayid, Ryantegan and JJetset - all of whom I follow on twitter. They've said exactly the same as what my mates "contact" has said lately and to be fair, info has been spot on.
but how do you know that one hasn't copied the other? The best one i can remember is Valencia Yid. He really was informed. He only used to post when he absolutely had concrete info. He doesn't post so much these days and never ITK but i kinda like that. It just goes to prove that he wasn't in it for the attention, just passing on info. JJetset has got a few things right of late but i remember him getting loads wrong in previous windows. We shall see. From a personal point of view i can't see the fee for Adebayor being the sticking point. They won't be looking for any more than about £8-10 million for him.
Adebayor's only got a year left on his contract, he's got no future at City and they want him gone. £8m was the rumour in January, so I wouldn't have thought that it had gone up, especially as there doesn't seem to be any competition for his signature, for some reason.
