Let's see. From the past - Ron Davies, Peter Osgood, Alan Ball, Kevin Keegan, Matt Le Tissier.

Currently, it would churlish to pick favourites, but it would take a mountain of bad news/behaviour to dislike Rickie Lambert. Genuinely nice bloke.

Alan Ball.... now if he was playing today they would call him the new Xavi. Amazing that 40 years ago there was a player playing in our country in a style that people today say is the "new way of playing football". When he was with us and earlier, he was the master of one touch football.

Can't believe no one else has said Kompany, he plays with so much passion and leadership it's untrue.

So did I. He was superb for a while. When he went through the barren spell I was desperate for him to score.

Saganowski was great until we gave him a contract; then he stopped trying.

If we're going outside Saints then George has to be my number one "old timer". It's easy to forget that Best played when anything short of murder was allowed, and he played in some pretty ordinary teams yet carried them. Scholes and Giggs vie for current.

Saints? Easy. Big Ron, Terry Paine, Mick Channon and Le Tiss. Current squad Morgan, Sir Rickie and Guly. In the future, reckon we might be adding our latest signing to the list. I am really chuffed about SD.
