Arguing about who is better, with two teams that play in very different ways, is very tricky. All I will say is that the 4 centre backs we have (Kos, TV5, Per and Djourou) are more than capable of doing the job for us. With Miquel and Bartley backing them up, for the first time in years going into the season, I am relatively comfortable that, given the right system we have sufficient strength in depth at CB.
What we lack is the organisational aspect of the game and not the personnel. The players we have are good enough. We could even have Vidic and Kompany as center backs and still ship in loads of goals, if the entire team doesn't defend as a proper unit. This is our problem now and has been our problem for the past few years. Let's see what kind of impact Bould has on our team....
