Arteta is a total pro, and does deserve to be captain, but Vermaelen would always be my 1st choice, he's always been our most vocal leader, and is a logical choice, Arteta is a close 2nd, Sagna is too quiet to be captain.
Honestley, this topic comes up all the time for all football an institutions and all I can say is who gives a flying pigs knackers. Captaincy in football is the most over-rated thing in sport. Do it like the Italians and give it oldest player onthe pitch. It is so meaningless it's not even funny. Leaders will be leaders the captain bar the coin flip serves no purpose
