Yea well, don't let us get started on that old can of worms, but he definitely gave the place back by about four cars length, Kimi started playing silly buggers and Lewis nailed him, whats the problem. And I had to buy a new light fitting.
Red Bull wing is flexing the most, but from onboard shots you can see McLaren is flexing as well (although not to the extent of Red Bull)
A few teams are talking about upgrades for China now, which is pretty impressive considering there's only 5 days between the Malaysia race and China FP1.
How effective is the engine cover blowing the beam wing? RB have had this since Jerez test and other teams have not copied it. Surely in the case of teams like Ferrari, they could gain a lot by copying this design, and would certainly help them recover some of the downforce they need.
STR tried this and it just blew their engine cover off I'm guessing there's something clever in the RB design to make it work, maybe Ferrari (and everyone else) haven't worked this out yet.
Jose, if my calculations are right thats about 11 cubic metres of air coming out of the exhaust pipes every minute at ambient temperature, surely that amount focussed, directed and passed over an areo device should be noticeable and if designed and managed effectivley, an advantage.
Yes, but its obviously not easy, the gas is bloody hot and the pipework restricts the engine breathing. McLaren thought they had a smart assed approach but failed for some reason of complexity it seems, but !
Team principal Martin Whitmarsh has said that his McLaren team will be testing a number of new parts during Friday practice for the Chinese Grand Prix. Whitmarsh stated: "The development race is where this year's world championship will be won or lost." http://en.espnf1.com/mclaren/motorsport/story/45789.html
Its alway's true that development is the key, this year its probably even more critical, as the technologies become more complex, the Red Bull car is a masterpiece but if the KERs thing aint sorted very soon then they are going to loose out to McLaren, and Button will this year take the WDC simply due to his edge on tyre management.
Just read an article on the BBC website where Mark Hughes claims Ferrari are "0.6secs off in race conditions". Was he even watching the race?
Lol, they are actually quite fast in the race. Alonso and Massa both have been setting fast laps in the 2 rounds so far. Qualifying is the area thats letting them down
I think Ferrari will be around the same area like Malaysia as they have not really had enough time to reflect on Malaysia.
Yeah, I think 3 stops for the majority of the teams - maybe a few 4 stoppers, and possibly a Sauber 2 stop
Autosport can't be correct on that? Degradation wont be as high as Malaysia but surely the tyres would degrade more then what was seen at Australia?
