Firstly, thank you for those who have given us mods a bit of praise - it is time consuming and can be quite difficult. The board on the whole has been only lightly wummed over the past few months. Since the whole Suarez thing blew over its not been too bad. Nothing like what it used to be when the likes of Henderson signed. In relation to the OP, if you become too heavy handed and involved the place becomes too regulated and people feel cramped and annoyed. Imo this is the Liverpool board where Liverpool fans can say what they want - not a board where you can only talk about Liverpool - I think that is a nonsense suggestion to be quite honest. This board is also a community and people are entitled to talk about holiday plans should they wish to. Again talk of the Euro/Beckham is okay by me. As many have said, it's mid season, not much else is going on and people shouldn't feel they cannot post because it isn't directly related to us. Your point about wums being dealt with lightly I don't agree with - I actually get stick for banning at times, but I stick by my guns as being a moderator gives a different perspective and you can see how wums are lining things up. You can't get too cut throat, as again, you have to try and keep a decent atmosphere in the forum. I'm probably the most cut throat of the mods, but it isn't always an easy decision. I do get the odd request from posters about others causing trouble which are very much welcome. As has been said, it's the silly season, we will all fall out 3 times before the new season starts!!

Hmm i've been registered here as long as anyone i think so while obviously i understand the nature of transfer windows my topic was designed taking that into account, and i think this point stands more often than it should: danielino: "The only issue for me is the derailment of threads with pointless conversations unrelated to the topic." Maybe i'm different but i don't care for building rapport or making friends on here (i'll remember and respect people of course), i like to have a really good football chat, and as perhaps an outsider the fact every thread is free reign for in-jokes and 'friendly WUMs' means you don't often get a good in-depth footballing topic that stays on-topic more than 2 pages. Is the 'general chat' not in existence for that reason? Somebody made a good point about this being a forum for Liverpool fans not a Liverpool forum. I'l have a think about whether that suits, as i come on here to exorcise LFC demons rather than kill time regardless. Again cheers all and thanks again to the Mods!

Surely it's a lot quicker to ban muppets like this than it is for them to register? Can you not ban by e-mail account? They'd then have to sort a valid e-mail account as well as fill in registration details.
