It would be a shame if we lose him, as kj said its vital that we dont break up the team too much, evolution not revolution !

I would rather him run his contract down than sell him cheap,he is worth more to us than a couple of million quid, same with pratley, was a shame he left but he earnt the club promotion with some of his goals, scott can do the same with a few goals that might mean the difference between survival or relegation and that would mean £60m quid the following season, its great that the chairman is playing hardball but id rather him here than elsewhere.

Scott seems level headed and took a pay cut to play for swansea, hopefully he signs a new deal on good money ut if not let him run his contract down if he wants ,we Are only here because of his goals so i got no problem if he wanted to maximise his earning potential elsewhere

swantastic that's the way to answer the spelling Guru's, nice one mate, going to use that one myself!................<laugh>

I think he'll sign for us this week, good that Huw has given him a prod, doesn't seem to me to be a stupid boy, and he's still raw at this level, and can learn an awful lot from a manager such as Laudrup, so as I've said before, and I'll stick my neck out again, and say he'll sign for us!.............

Well if he doesn't sign we'll get nothing at the end of the contract so let's get something. I feel that if he thinks he will set the world on fire at liverpuddle he is in for a shock. Kuyt anyone in exchange?

Kuyt signed for Feyenoord didn't he?

Anyway, every other club seems to be making signings, I want to see some action now. The suspense is killing me and we have another 6 weeks before the season starts

well joe allen and sinclair is wanted by Brendan now. He had to wait until another club came in for them before he can start the ball rolling for himself. fulham have triggered the way clear for sinclair and spurs have triggered joe allen's......will they both go i dont know but joe was keen to move onto liverpool a couple of weeks ago before Mr laudrup signed so how he feels now is his business and not known. Because like i said it was a gentleman's agreement and not a clause by jinks then the way is now clear for brendan to come in for the both players now.......I hope we can hold on to joe first and foremost but i have my doubts....

Sinclair has always been Brendan's boy so I expect him to move on. Not sure where he'd go though, he's not good enough for top six so it would be a move to a mid-table club.

Although he was great for us in the championship in my opinion he was poor last year blowing several open goals also his crossing and general distribution was poor.

Is it me guys, last season I only remember him running back to the halfway line for a take and pass (back) to Taylor. He didn't look quick or confident enough to stretch premiership defenders or to reach for the byline. He was very ineffectual for me.

Personally, I'd say that he's on the verge of not being good enough to play for or stay with us. Maybe its time for us to cash in.

I'd be very very concerned if this thread was about our Nathan, as its not I'm not fussed either way.

Khrone-Dehli could only cost £1-2 million, if reports are to be believed so even if scott goes it appears it might be easy to replace him!

I hope that Jenkins is up to the task of seeing off any interest in young Joe, as if we lose Joe Allen, then I think we could well be in trouble, Two players that are a must to keep, is Joe and Leon, and that must be written in stone Huw! ............... <ok>

We should have offered him a new improved contract with a massive minimum release fee clause in it already.

It worries me that Rodgers is rather flippantly tapping up some of our players. Gylfi - well, with Gerrard around he would struggle to get into the Liverpool team as the attacking midfielder. Despite what others say, he isn't really a winger. I can't help but think that Rodgers would share the opinion of NI Revolution - "We reall want Johnson or Ramirez, but he's good cover for £5m". I think that would be a shame and that, if he were to try to stitch us up, that he would do it for a player he really wanted.

Transfer-wise, he's playing the same game as with Gylfi, making it clear that should Sinclair agitate then he would be in for him. He can't make the first move, but if Sinclair goes on the market and someone bids for him then he can match the bid.

He can also make it clear that Sinclair can wait out his contract for Liverpool.

I believe what we are seeing is what I argued on an earlier thread regarding Man City's hollow achievement.

We're the new guns in town who have given everyone a kick up the arse and showed that the people running the big clubs are incompetent.

Now begins the process of stripping us of our assets. We stand no chance of keeping these guys, the finance is weighted far too heavily in the big clubs' favour. We've just got to hope Laudrup can attract suitable replacements and forge a new team.

Unfortunately he is hamstrung by some of our squad playing for team GB.

Not sure that's an obstacle, TW. It's not as if they're the other side of the world and they're all players he'll want to keep I'm sure. If people want to go let them, I say. Never understood teams wanting to keep players who didn't want to be there. The exception is Tevez. I'd have stuck him in the reserves for the duration of his contract, but then they may well not have won the title so what do I know?

As for asset stripping, I know we've talked about this before but that's the way of things. We don't have to like it but I recognise there's not a lot you can do about it. For years at work we brought talented youngsters through, and invested heavily in them. Almost without exception they always ended up getting poached by a bigger outfit, and we were seen as having a good, reputable set-up with good people but essentially a nursery for the bigger boys, and we had our use out of the talent in the meantime.

    That's life.

Huw Jenkins was good at seeing of the 'Bodde snatchers' he'll now need to up the brinkmanship with these poachers, we don't want to give Laudrup too much of a headache in his first season with us, I see we have 'signed' Chico Flores, full name José Manuel Flores Moreno, otherwise affectionately know to his friends as Chico, so his first job for us, will be to get a hair cut! It's Chico time at Swansalona lads!...........<laugh>

We are close on signing a cracker of a midfielder too, in one Jonathan De Guzman! He's originally Canadian, but is now a Netherlands Under-21 international, looks set to leave Villarreal for us, cross fingers!............

Siggy didn't stay and plenty of others wouldn't come to Swansea just because Laurup is here. The top clubs have top managers, so why would players come here instead of going to one of them.
