At least when Chelsea had the ball they tried to score, when Spain did they used it a means of stopping the opposition scoring. That's what Wenger meant I think
He was insinuating that the Spain tactic of keeping the ball was to not concede rather than to create lots of chances, so in that sense it's a similar mindset to Chelsea's CL performances in that they were trying not to concede (hence getting every man behind the ball, despite being direct the few times they got it). Both gameplans produced boring football that I hope doesn't end up getting replicated across English competitions.
Thats exactly what he means but he is talking crap. They are just super patient and only go for goal when they see an absolute chance. As BaDM says though, Chelsea hardly had the ball, so there is a massive difference.
Depends on who is looking at it. I think claims that Spain played boring football are ridiculously narrow minded. As a possession football playing midfielder myself I think the football they play is utterly mind blowing and could watch it all day every day. It is an art.
