Wouldn't surprise. He's at an age where he needs regular first team football. He isn't going to get it here. I'd wish him all the best and thank him because the lad overcame a very poor start, to end up looking like a good option at the beginning of last season. He was lazy as **** when he arrived but turned that aspect around.

 

I wont miss him, he can do a job but he should be getting first team football.

Good luck to him if he leaves.

I really liked Best, much like Perch he looked shocking at first, but hard work and a strong work ethic won the fans over. I honestly don't know anyone in the Premier League who can take a ball down on their chest better than Best, he knows where the goal is and much like Ba in the 2nd half of the season, sacrificed his own chances for others. Good luck Leon, nothing spectacular, but as HD&Q said, that Arsenal game (best in my memory aside from 5under1and) was massive, and he had a massive part to play!

 

I'm aware the window has just opened but I'm still worried we'll be left short. If Ba does f*** off we will need to bring in 3 strikers IMO. And I just cant see that happening.

Reckon we should have tried harder to keep Best at the club, did absolutely nothing wrong and his PL goal record was good for us aswell, his link up play was vital to some other goals aswell...e.g... 3-0 Blackburn at home.

 

We got 3m for best plus more if they go up... A great deal IMHO.

 

So far we've made a 5 million profit this window and spent nothing.

Good luck to Best - can't blame him for going.

Thought he was extremely unlucky with the timing of his injury a while back as he was just starting to get a decent run in the team and was able to show what he was capable of. He's good enough to be a Prem player, but I guess he'd struggle to be regular 1st choice in most Prem teams. Blackburn is probably a decent move for him as I can see them competing for promotion.

Shame though as I genuinely thought he might get a chance in the coming season, with squad rotation likely due to Europa League and the African Nations games ruling out Cisse + Ba for a while.

We look very thin on the ground up front now, so we're going to need a couple of 'good' players coming in to cope with the season we have coming up. Hopefully we can capture some quality signings tha will really push Cisse + ba for a place - otherwise we might as well have held on to Besty, for the sake of £3m.

Anyway, I wish him all the best and hope he does a good job in the Championship.
