Website is down with SQL database error, not good enough Saints very disappointed, bet the big clubs never have problems like this.
I got on the site but then couldn't log in with my details and looks like the site is down again. For all the good things we do this is very poor IMO
Get right on ya tits, we are not so big we have tens of thousands, it's not even clear on how to purchase trough the site, no immediate webpage links or nothing!
I was on hold for 23 minutes and then decided to try again later. I did not expect it to be this busy!
Yes they do, anyone who sells popular things - it just means there's a huge amount of demand. The website is overloaded and effectivly been DDOSed. Ever try and get tickets for festivals or music gigs etc? The same thing happens there all the time. It's very had to cost effectivly deal with it, there are various load-balancing techniques that help*, but they are expensive to set up and run, and are not needed for the rest of the year when demand will be less and more spread out. *Big websites like the BBC, Google etc. use them because they consistantly have thousands of visitors at the same time.
Just go back in a few hours, you'll still get one and the site will be less busy. There's nothing the club can do about it.
Do you work for Saints By any chance and I got on the site and then couldn't log in which is crap IMO
It won't be 32000. For a start I doubt they'll be selling season tickets for the away section... In related news, i'm currently in the tickets section of the website, but cannot see anything that allows me to buy a season ticket. Would have though spending £600 would be significantly simpler than this.
No, but I do work in IT and thus understand that Saints currently have the same problem as 99% of online ticketing systems. The main problem is that loads of people will be on the site consistantly hitting refresh - this makes the problem worse and just slows the whole process down. If all those people stopped doing that and waited, then the site would be fine as people slowly drifted back to buy their tickets. As it is, instead of queuing at the virtual ticket office everyone's mobbed the counter in their effort to be first.
It's now easy enough to get on the website, but it wont do you any good because it looks like they haven't updated it for new sales.
