I believe Manchester United are keeping a close eye on Theo Walcott's situation at Arsenal. ‪#MUFC‬ ‪#AFC‬

Because Nani could off to Juventus. that's what this guy thinks anyway. Looking at his timeline, he seems fairly reliable.

It'd be a good move for Walcott as SAF may improve him. At Arsenal he seems to have stagnated.

I would have thought SAF would be more interested in OXO, we could turn that boy into something special at OT.

Looks like nothing more than his manager trying to increase his negotiating power for the next contract. Happens all the time.

Anyway, I wouldn't mind if he's gone for a fair price. Like I've said before I'll take any replacement in the world for the (inflated) amount people seem to be willing to pay for Walcott.

    Walcott to Spurs. <laugh>

I know, Theo can be a bit clueless on the pitch, but even he would surely not swap CL football for Spursday?

I would make a gift of him to West Ham in an effort to help them ease past the spuds in the league :)

All part of my cunning plan mwahahahaha!

In that case, send him to Loftus Road - hey, if you send RVP as well, I'll almost guarantee we'll finish above Fulham..... And maybe Spurs ;)

And what has Nani done that has been so great ?

Walcott got 8 goals and 8 assists in the Premier League last season and 9 goals and 7 assists the season before.

Nani got 8 goals and 10 assists last season and 9 goals and 14 assists the season before. Remind me how much Utd spent on Nani again ??? Also Walcott is being played out of position. Nani is no better than Walcott. Considering what Walcott did for us with the worst team Wenger has assembled .. I think there is a lot more to come from him .. whereas I think Nani has reached his level.

Theo got 11 goals and 13 assists in total last season.^^
(and 13 goals and 9 assists the season before)

He's massively undervalued by Arsenal fans.

He's a late developer, I'm sure of it. His best years will come in his late 20's. If we sell him to one of our rivals we WILL live to regret it. He has the potential to score 20+ goals from a wide position or CF position.

    What is the logic there?

    His best quality: pace!

What are the qualities which deteriorate the most with age? Pace and stamina. (the latter isn't something to write home about in the case of Walcott... he's no Overmars)

How the hell would you make the connection that he will improve in his late 20s?

Ball control doesn't improve with age, if anything it might deteriorate. I can quote Wenger himself on this, and it's very similar in other sports: if you don't show great technique in your early/mid teens, that is it! You can refine your technique but you can't develop something that is not there. It can't be faked.

Only point he might improve on is thus his finishing and decision making... but he is nowhere near good enough to have as a lone striker, so the team formation would need to adapt to him. Is he important enough for a top PL team to adapt for him? **** NO.

He can have a few good years ahead of him, but to me he is the stereotypical player that will get much worse in his late 20s.

Well firstly, pace should'nt detoriate until your late twenties/early 30's. Most sprinters peak at around 28. (injury permitting)

Again you are wrong. Ball control DOES improve with age. Just like anything constant repition and practise improves your skill. Talent and luck are important, but it is practice that makes the difference between being good and being brilliant at just about anything. (In fact a recent study shows to 'master' anything: language, instrument, martial art, sport etc.. a minimum of 10,000 hrs practise is needed.)

But back to Walcott, I think his main weaknesses are his first touch and his reading of the game. Both of which will improve with time.
