So knackered using that as an example should we be saying yesssss when Monk, Tate or Bessone leaves ? Because they were good enough for us in a lower league, but they don't quite fit in fully now ?

By the way it's not about liking a player, it's about showing a little respect when someone is on the verge of leaving, don't think I heard the same kind of comments when Moreira left

By the same token show some respect to the players who have helped us achieve our current position. Respect costs nothing to give, and I think that the criticism levied at certain players is a little unfair sometimes.

It's fair that perhaps I was a bit touchy, it's possible that this is more due to what I've seen on here over the last year or so. I know this is unfair, but I still don't think celebrating a player leaving in that manner after he's always given his all for us is very nice.

Like I've said, I don't see one post on here scott, that has been disrespectful to the player, or over the top, Gower has pretty much split opinions from the start, I know what I hear on the terraces of the Liberty, and down the pub regarding Mark Gower, and nothing of the like has been said on here regarding him. Like him or loath him, he's now on his way out, he was never one of my favourite players, but am I glad he's going? you bet I am, just like Pintado, and Abbott, Beattie, etc, etc, but I still wish him well, where ever he ends up! Hell I wish you were more sensitive to some of the personal rubbish on here, then maybe I and others wouldn't have to give as good we get, by the way I agree with Knackered too, on his last post.............. <ok>

Over the past four seasons Mark Gower has proved himself to be a worthy Jack. We all know he's not the most gifted of players but he's proved himself to be more than capable at adapting to the various roles successive managers have asked of him. He's seldom been an automatic first pick for the team but has always given his best when called upon, in many ways he's a model professional and has been a great squad player amassing more than 100 appearances.
As a club we've moved on and if we are to hope to continue our progression then Gower is unlikely to figure too much in the first team, thats the reality, however it's right and proper that if he does move on that all Jacks give him the thanks and credit he deserves for his contribution.

Agreed 100% Honkyjack thats almost identical to what i was going to post plus he was a passionate player for us i remember him running up to us in the east stand showing his jack tattoo of his sons name it was brandished with pride when he scored i think he genuingly loved it here. And Gower was an appt name to heehee ! He deserves our thanks and is just another loyal player we will have to leave behind as our success grows.

A pretty hopeless winger who did a decent enough job in the middle. Been here about eighteen months too long though.

    Good luck and all that.

If you want to, no problem. I don't see it as particularly disrespectful. Saying you wouldn't piss on one of our players if they were on fire (as musty did recently) IS disrespectful. Big difference.

I agree on that knackered, that was why people picked him up on that. I have no problem with someone not liking some of our players, for example I didn't like pratley and am not overly fond of lita , but I wasn't cheering when the former left or when lita goes. They have played their part and that includes gower

Gower has played a big part for 3 different Swan managers , for small money , since he came to Swansea after we reached the Championship . Created well , best in Europe for awhile apparently , & led the team in assists in the Premier despite starting only 14 games . Now I'm not big on respect toward our players because everyone has their opinions but disrespect toward our players , especially ones who helped put the team on the map , doesn't sit well with me . If you can't say something good about such a player , say nothing is my motto !!
