In a bid to freshen up the left side of Fulham's midfield, Martin Jol is looking to bring in Swansea City's Scott Sinclair and will pursue the club's interest in Heerenveen's Luciano Narsingh, according to Goal.com. The belief is that Jol, keen on adding a youthful edge to his otherwise ageing Fulham team, is also seeking to add an abundance of pace to his flanks and Sinclair and Narsingh fit the bill perfectly. Sinclair is thought to be a difficult acquisition because of his successful spell at Swansea last year which has attracted other, more lucrative interest. However, it is understood that no club has made a firm offer and Fulham have been alerted to the fact that Sinclair, a former under-21 international with England, only has one year remaining on his deal. The same applies to Narsingh. No fee has been suggested for Sinclair yet, but it is thought that Heerenveen value Narsingh at around £6 million and the player himself has already visited Fulham this summer, when he joined team mate Oussama Assaidi in checking out the facilities. Assaidi, though, is on the verge of joining Galatasaray. - Cottagers Confidential
I want as close to 10 million as we can get. Enough money for Laudrup to get 2 top quality players from the continent. I can't stand players who start to believe their own hype.
I believe thats the reason dragon, i said a couple of weeks ago that it is known at the liberty that he wants to move to a london club. I'm hoping now we have Mr Laudrup onboard that he will want to stay, I hope he dont want anymore money in the light that we were prepared to give siggs £30,000/week and he is going to hold out for more, That is what happens when another player gets envious of another players contract,. siggs should have kept his contract to himself and not blab that if swans would double his wages to £60.000/week he would sign for us.....the problem we have now with sinclair is we will only get a fraction of what he is worth with just one year on his contract so there are 4 possible outcomes..... 1) he decides to stay and increase his contract.... 2) we give in and give him what he wants and he signs. 3) we sell him for a fraction of what he is worth. 4) We force him to see out his contract and risk him playing when he dont want to be here and he ends up a free agent at the end of the coming season.... I hope its No1 and he realizes he his on a decent wage as it is and he is relatively safe of playing first team football rather than joining another club for a few more quid and ends up a flop as the grass is not always greener...
Agree Dai, he should decide on No 1, if not, then No 3. Let`s get some dosh for him. I don`t think he`s going to sign, well I`ll be surprised if he does, so he`ll be off.
He cost us £2million so i dont think we will lose much if anything at all if we sell him. Im hoping he will stay though as i think he has a roll to play under Mr laudrup..
YUP agree sell him now . I've been told that top players wages in Denmark and Holland are around £20k a week . For me Sinclair was becoming an '' in and out player '' up for it one minute and not bothering the next, a little like Arshevan at the gunners, if his hearts not in then sorry, for me it should be bye bye and get some money in.
Agree although to lose any of the so called 1st 11 means that now we'll need to replace and strengthen ,I'd hate to see him go but the team will constantly be in a state of transition so it'll mean another name to chant
Agree there Dai, hope it's no1, though if he goes I'm sure Huw will want some return on our outlay, we should at least get our money back on him, maybe a small profit, think a 6 Million price tag would be reasonable, considering he's only got 12 months left on his contract!...........
Yes your right SA9, think the total package came to 1.2 Million, if my memory serves me right!..................
This is right, £500k rising to £1m on promotion to the premier league. I would say if he decides to go we should be looking at about £5m for him on his last year, maybe £6m at a push
Martin Jol returned to his homeland to bolster Fulham’s attack with one of the most inspired signing’s of the summer transfer window. The Cottagers signed Costa Rican international striker Bryan Ruiz in a £10.6 million deal (€12 million) despite a reported late attempt by Newcastle United to hijack the deal.
There you go, and as good a player as he is...I really do like watching Ruiz....he scored 2 goals in 27. Scott scored more from the wing and is young and English to boot. So we'll have some of that please! (would be happy with closer to 5mill to be honest but believe there is a club out there who must be desperate enough to cough up)
the final payment was £2 million in the end for sinclair which is reasonable overall ....it was paid in stages on performance im led to believe, I hope he stays myself as im expecting him to come into his own under Mr laudrups forward game plan. He would be a fool to leave us at this an exciting era of our team. Im really excited about the coming season more than any other season and i cant wait for it to start...
please log in to view this image Top post Dai, and how I feel regarding this season too, that's why I wasn't particle bothered when Rodgers went, as I knew our Board would up the stakes in the Management appointment! We are now moving up a cog this year, and you better believe it!...............
